Between Tom Tom & Gamin GPS??

Ok I'm planning to buy a GPS device tomorrow or Thursday. Which one between the two is easier to get free maps for Australia and which one has a better reliability between the two. Thanks

    In the US and Europe, it's more a matter of personal preference. Many like the user interface and display of the Garmin while others prefer the higher level of customization available on TomTom.

    But in Australia (and NZ) I'd get a Garmin. There are several user-supported sites that offer free maps of Australia and NZ, but they work only on Garmin (and sometimes Magellan). TomTom uses a different format which is incompatible.

    i don't like either of these two i have had both a tom tom and a garmin i much prefer navman much better and easier to use
