Should philosophy be offered as a course of study for high school students?

Maybe I'm a little behind the times. Maybe in some high schools it already is. But if it is not, should it be? Would an introduction to the world's greatest thinkers encourage them into independent thinking of their own?

Offered? Mandatory! (it used to be, by the way)

I think that the teachers should integrate philosophy into history classes but I don't think that there should be separate philosophy classes.

Why anyone would seek to learn about anything via any type of "official" education system, is beyond me.

There are to many not passing in the math

and the sciences already. They need you to

help them think. That's what "teamwork" is.

It's called "no one left behind." <}:-})
