What makes you feel like you have a meaningful life?

Please don't answer "children" because I'm not having any.

A sense of belonging and helping others. It doesn't have to a child or even somebody related to you. Also, appreciating nature and taking the time to notice things such as the foliage in the fall. A sense of gratitude for health, food, or anything that you have that many others lack.

    Contribution.

I contribute to the people I work with. To my friends, spouse, family. Sometimes what I contribute is complicated (I'll spare you the details but essentially that'd be something that took me years and years to learn how to do). Sometimes what I contribute is simple like time and attention (that cat loves this kind).

For me this is more than just finding the thing you're good at and giving it away (although that's really great too) but discovering that there is something very basic in me (and I believe in most people) that wants good things for themselves and for others.

I'm not sure if it's "meaningful" but it has been fulfilling.

When someone tells me they love me. I don't even mean romantically, hearing it from a friend is enough. I suffer from depression so these tiny little things are what get me through my day...
