How many more months must the economy recover before Rush realizes his dream of a failed economy won't happen?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091022/ap_on_bi_ge/us...

I know Rush gets on his kness every night and prays for the economy to fail so the GOP has a chance next election, but it just isn't gonna happen.

However, the best part? For people that actually know ANYTHING about the economy, this is exactly what we predicted was going to happen. The stimulus and bailout bills saved us from an EXTREMELY deep depression, that the leading indicators, followed by the economy itself, would rise soon afterward.

Which, of course, leads me to believe that the last prediction -that the unemployment rate would get better, slowly following the growth of the economy- will come true as well.

The prediction was that the uneomployment rate would start to fall about a year after the stimulus packages, which gives us, what? About 6 more months?

a bad economy and 10% unemployment are just numbers to you but for some of us it is a reality so when you get unemployed tell me if about 6 months is still a big deal when the bill collectors are knocking on your door. Will you still be singing the praises of the one who put you in this mess or will you still blame Bush and Fox news?

What I don't get is that, yes you see the economy getting better, but what is getting banks back to the point they can make the same types of stupid loans that caused this in the first place going to solve in the long run. What is giving people money to buy houses and cars, which in the long run will probably become a burden to them because they have not changed any bad habits gonna do in the long run. Create another big mess. It was not the policies that caused this mess, it was people who took out interest only loans on a house with not down payment, and then wondered why they went belly up when housing prices dropped, duh, if you don't pay principle you don't pay anything down. Why do we think it was the credit card companies fault for someone running up a 10,000 dollar debt and then raising the interest rate for one late payment, when they state in the contract they would, and the people act surprised. Where is the personal accoutability for all of this. Where does some of this come back on the average person being stupid. Sure some people got screwed, but most of it was not due to the government, it was that keeping up with the neighbors attitude that made people do a lot of dumb things over the last 15-20 years and finally came back and bit them in the butt. and these new government bailouts etc..are just getting people back into the same position. That we can make stupid personal choices and stupid buisness decisions and the government is going to come in and "bail us out"...what does that fix in the long run.

You have obviously never taken any economics classes, micro or macro.

Obama said that the stimulus bill must be passed so we can keep unemployment at 8 percent or under. Now it's 9.9 percent and rising. Jobless claims again rose last month with another 517,000 claims. It's not going to get better. All this spending is not only weakening our dollar but it's going to create MASSIVE inflation in a couple of years at most.

We are headed for some very very scary times economically with the horrifying inflation coming our way, which will also affect unemployment and make that even worse than it is.

I predict double digit inflation and unemployment as well as interest rates of at least 18% by the end of Obama's term.

No one can buy a house...we all eat beans...there are no jobs for the naive college kids who voted their freedoms away...but hey...we at least have health insurance for all! Although you may have to wait in line a couple months...and your mother just had her prescription and medicare procedure denied...but she'll eventually get it after you fill out more waiver forms.

To me, this is a failed economy scenario rooted in the massive government spending that Obama has responsibility for with only 200 days in office...a staggering amount of debt in such a short time that dwarfs anything any other President has spent in both 4 or 8 year periods.

You thinking is twisted and not logical.

We?? What a narcissistic moron marxist!!! Had I an idea where to speak to you, I would wager my entire life's savings...not damn much anymore, by the way, that unemployment is TEN years away from anywhere near what it was two years ago. Apparently, it is a requirement that you be an idiot to follow the marxist Barry everywhere....Baaaaaaaa little sheep boy...just keep that goose step high when you pass his messiah-ship.

Kevin, You are a very smart man. How can you believe that the economy is going to rebound for an extended period when our government is printing money like crazy? The FEDS are still holding interest rates, the commercial real estate bubble is about to burst and another round of adjustable rate mortgages are coming to term.

    Please google Peter Schiff.

You are a very sad person with a skewed view on numerous issues facing this country.

You people and your constant attacks on Rush in this forum is a joke, that shows how incapable you are in focusing on key issues facing this nation.

When the economy gets to be as good as it was under Bush in 2005, then we can expect Rush to stop complaining.

Why would he want the economy to fail? he would go down with ship along with everyone else in this country.
