Do you find it ironic when actors and politicians pretend to understand energy?

They will never discuss Nuclear. They act like it doesn't exist.

I went to Streisand's high school and she was an honor student, so why automatically think that all actors and politicians are universally stupid?

I'm not sure from your sentence if you mean clean energy, or the physics of energy.

If its clean energy then lets just say you don't have to be a genius to want to keep the air and earth clean and free of lead and other pollutants, we already know to be damaging to our health.

Its not rocket science.

They aren't asking us to fund some secret lab they set up in their basement to end pollution, they are informing us of the importance that the professionals, who do understand the value of clean energy sources, are working on.

Standing in front of a windmill is more acceptable and positive than seeing the twisted body of a child exposed to mercury poisioning, or endless pictures of the grey/brown smog that hangs over every American city, or the total mess China has made of its land and air in its efforts to ignore science and pollute. Celebrities don't need to be able to understand every interlinking facet of pollution and energy in order to give people some understanding of what needs to be done in order to keep air breathable, the ground safe for growing food, and the water safe for drinking.

I can't build a car, but I can drive one, and if I can drive on that runs cleaner, and not on an energy source that comes primarily from unstable countries, then how much more do I have to understand?

Yes ... Everyone knows you have to be a rocket scientist to understand energy.

About as much as the ordinary person who just listens to whatever is told to them without doing any research on their own pretending to understand energy.

I don't see any irony. I find it ridiculous when actors pretend to understand anything other than their lines. As for politicians, I fully expect them to have a grasp on any issue on which they are voting.

They don't know the facts, that's for sure. For them, it's all here say from people who can only claim they are professionals. Who can honestly discredit the scientists, so the scientists say whatever they want..

Not suprised by anything they do. But what I am surprised by is how people like Alec Baldwin, Barbara Streissand, and the rest of liberal Hollywood claim that Reagan should never have been president because he used to be an actor.
