How is everything Brett Favre's Fault?

Why is it so wrong that he wanted to come back and play again? the packers are the ones that forced him to retire early, they had to know a decision right away. thats why he was so upset as his news conference. and when he asked for his release they didnt give it to him. they were too afraid to let him pick where he wanted to go, so they drug everything out. so how is that his fault? he has a right to play football. i dont understand how that makes him a bad person. if he wanted to play football, why condemn him?

Because he actually said at the end of the year 4 years in a row that he wasn't coming back.

The last two of those years he made it official with news conferences.

They just got tired of the whole act. I mean the act of him placing himself above the whole team, organization, town, everything.

He is as bad as the "Balloon Family" when it comes to seeking out the media with a whole "LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME".

Favre held the Packers hostage for a few years with his "I'm going to retire, no I'm not" show. The final time he did it, they took his word for it and drafted to fit the new QB (Rodgers) as well as a backup QB. They attempted to get Favre back, but he stalled until they had not choice. Yeah I understand that it's a tough decision for him, but you can't expect a business to wait until you feel ready. Favre flip flopped constantly leaving the Pack with no other choice. They gave him time, rearranged things for him multiple times, but it was never enough for him.

Once they had decided to move on, he decided he wanted to come back. That put them in a huge bind. Do they upset their new QB (who was supposed to lead the team for the next few years), or do they tell Favre too bad? Of course they're not going to just release him. He's still a decent QB (even though he loves to throw away the big games). No team allows a viable player to go to a rival team, especially when they can trade him for something useful.

He deserves the scorn he gets. No grown man should ever cry on tv about anything, unless it's the death of a loved one. He cried about retiring, then came back and showed why he should have stayed retired. The Pack made the right call, Rodgers was one of the better QB's last year.

Very well said. If you think about it...even the superbowl year the packers on offense overachieved. His WR core was all banged up. Brooks was out for the year and Freeman had a busted arm. They had to bring in Rison. If it wasnt for the amazing special teams with Desmond Howard and a pretty stout Defense with Reggie, Sean Jones, and Gilbert Brown anchoring the line, that team would actually have been kinda pathetic. Favre never had the weapons he needed and if he had a emmitt smith in the backfield or a jerry rice to throw to hed have alot more rings to show off to his kids. He did the best he could with what he had to work with and still managed to beat on the teams with the "big name" players. He made everyone he played with better and he made even the best of the best opponents he played against look aweful many times (i.e. champ bailey and dre bly last year)

The whole point of them drafting Rodgers was that Favre said he was going to retire, they had a lot of money invested in Rodgers and he was sitting on the bench.

But they never forced him out, the second time he retired they decided that was enough.

btw..... I don't hate Favre, I was just answering the question.

    EDIT:

Footbal Guru, what am I lying about? I've said I'm tired of Favre but thats a lot different than hating him.

You have it wrong, little friend. Prince Brett called TWO press conferences to announce his retirement. The Packers wanted him to come back, but after the second announcement, they took him at his word, and moved on.

He's a headline seeking jerk, who left the Packers high and dry. After they made new arrangements, he decided he didn't want to retire, because his name wouldn't be in the sports pages anymore.

Get the facts, before you lay blame.

I can see the Packers point of view. They felt like they were being held hostage until he made his decision if he was going to play or not. C'mon he waited until after training camp over to announce he was signing with the Vikes.

There are a lot of very vocal Favre haters because he is the best player ever, and they just can't cope with that.

Source(s): Bill78- Is lying his azz off. The fact is that Favre needed a couple of weapons in 2005 to contend. Instead, Thompson drafts un-needed Rodgers and the rest defense. He basically slapped Favre in the face.
