Does God Support The War on Drugs?
If so which side is he on:
the side that has already lost?
Or the side that has already won?

In my opinion, god does not exist. For this reason, he does not support either side in the 'The War on Drugs'.
If god does exist, however, then I think one could argue that He does not support those who are attempting to stop the drug trade. I say this because god is suppose to be all-powerful, so surely the side which has His support would be winning the battle, yes? Most people admit that we have failed to combat the drug trade, so god, assuming He exists, is on their side, not ours.
Then again, I guess it depends on what we mean by 'support'. He could support Y or Z but not intervene in the conflict. In that case, the failure or success of a particular side would arguably not tell us which side god supports.

Not when the people waging the war do so for unrighteous reasons using unrighteous actions. One only look into the whole Iran Contra fiasco and more recently the cias use of drug barons planes (who must be well connected) in extraordinary renditions in the other big phony war, the War on terror. **** one of these planes came down with 2 tons of coke heading for the USA and people don't think they are up to their old tricks again?! You think the opium production in Afghanistan by orders of magnitude since to invasion is an accident?
Drug use and dependency forms a wide spectrum of social and medical problems and should be dealt with accordingly in a rational way and not be criminalised. You think many would be addicted to drugs if they had opportunity or hadn't got something they wished to escape from?
You think Jesus would be for the incarceration of many poor and brutalised people because they used drugs or had to sell drugs to get by in an unequal world? I don't think so. HE would save his anger for those that used drugs as a way to control people and raise money off the books for things that they knew couldn't be put on the books.
However abusing your body is definately a sin. It is so because your body is God's loving creation and hapiness can not ultimately be found in such things especially in excess where their use leads to all sorts of problems with shhowing love to ones neighbor.
All legislation against recreational drug use is a form of prohibition and can not be consistent with the legal status of controlled recreational drugs such as alcohol and tobacco. Prohibition in itself breeds crime. Not the actual use and distribution but rather all the brutal criminality which comes as a consequence of its illegal nature.

"we are losing the war on drugs. this means that there's a war going on. and people on drugs are winning." - bill hicks.
if god were real, i would think that he would support the side that equates to freedom and equality for everyone.

God is our creator he made humans with a intellect mind that can think for themselves. He mad all these plants for our benefit but you must know since humans are made with this mind to think for themselves they can use God's creation and use it for the wrong purposes and so abuse his plants to make drugs eg. marijuana. Listen God has already won the battle no matter what u might see going on in todays world some persons chose wrong while others chose right make your decision are you going to use his creation for the wrong. Its your choice.

god doesn't exist. but if the judeao/christian god were to exist, in some hypothetical make-believe world, i believe he would be against the war on drugs. he would believe that one should follow the rule to "god," not the rule of "man."

If we premise that god exists (which he does not), whom do you think MADE the plants that the drugs came from in the first place?

Jesus came to give life. Recreational drugs steal people's life.
Jesus gives the power to break free from bondage to allot more things than just drugs and gives eternal life.

If you're as gullible as to think there is an actual "war on drugs", you better check your facts. The Bush family is probably the most notorious for involvement in drug trafficking through Panama.
