how can i get my puppy to go to the bathroom quicker?
she really hates going outside, so it takes at least fifteen minutes for her to pee and another fifteen for her to poo:( I don't care if it takes her forever, but she obviously is miserable until we go inside, so i need to teach her that the quicker she's done, we can go right back in the house. I am trying to praise her a lot whenever she's done so that she'll associate it with being a good thing, but it hasn't had any effect yet....

Praise doesn't mean much to most dogs. If you had to do something that made you "miserable," as you put it, would you be more willing to do it if you were given a pat on the head or $20? Give her $20! When she relieves herself outside, give her a handful of delicious, tiny treats such as chicken, string cheese, hot dog or whatever she goes crazy for. As she gets the hang of it, you can give her more rewards or better rewards for doing her business faster and faster.
EDIT: Oh, yes, do "name" the action of her relieving herself! Decide a command (you can say "go potty," "do your business," or you can put a separate command on peeing and pooping). Just as she begins to go, say the command, and as soon as she's done, reward her like crazy. Be consistent and always say the cue. It'll probably take her awhile, but she will eventually associate the verbal cue with the action, and you'll be able to specifically tell her to go when you need her to go.

put potty on command, when you go outside and you see her start to squat down to go say, go pee pee or go poo poo and as she starts to tell her good girl and once shes done give her a super treat, something she doesn't always get like a little piece of chicken or a tiny piece of hot dog. It will take several attempts to do it but she will start to associate the cue with a reward once she does.

The fastest way to get my dog to take care of business is to go for a walk. I mean, a walk. Not around your typical pee/poo spot, out and about the neighborhood.
This may encourage her to "mark territory" where she smells other scents. Also the movement/exercise may increase the real need over desire.
I have proven this to work and it sometimes only takes less than 5 minutes. Location, location, location. Make it interesting to want to be outside, a time to explore...

ok, does your dog tell you when she needs to go out? I had this same problem with mine and this is how I fixed it. I wait until she says shes gotta go. then i play with her and make her run arouind for like 10 minutes before i take her. When she goes pee, say go pee or whatever you want as a command. Just keep repeating it. I say potty for pee. Ill say go potty, go potty, while she is peeing. Then I say go poopy go poopy while she poops. After each she gets a cookie. It took a few weeks, but now i bring her out and lets say if its cold or raining or at 2 am lol ill say go poopy and she will. I say go potty and she does. our potty breaks used to be like 20 minutes, but now they are less than 5.

It's good for a dog to go for outside walks, so why rush this?
She needs exercise anyway.
However, if you want to speed things up, try a catch phrase (go potty -- let's go, go, go") and then praise and reward when she follows through.
I tell one of my dogs "do your thing" and he does, the others just take their time, however. Some things can't be rushed.

I have 2 chihuha's and it takes them forever it seems like to go to the bathroom. I am not for sure why though. I think that they like to explore more than anything. I am not for sure. This is a good question! I am sure that there are alot of dogs out there that take forever to go to the bathroom when you take them out.
