dell inspiron 1525 battery help?!?!?

Question

my dell inspiron 1525 laptop battery indicator keeps blinking orange four times then blue. It is a new battery i received today. The old one died. In bios settings it says the battery is running normal. When i boot windows vista and check my battery status it says, "plugged in, not charging". The amount of charge is 0%. The battery is not hot or cold and I disconnected it for ten minutes.I can't update the bios, because the charge is under 10%. What should I do? The laptop works perfectly fine with the AC adapter connected.

Yes, they are selling 9 cells batteries for Dell inspiron 1525. So that means it would fit. The 9 cell battery is some sort of upgrade.

Is it a Dell Battery or is it a "compatible" battery?  If Dell, it sounds like it is bad.  If it is "compatible" it is either bad or not actually compatible.
