What is wrong with the advanced search feature on Yahoo! Answers?

Any time I try to do an advanced search on answers to find some questions to answer it will not let me just search for new questions. Instead it gives me every question ever asked on the subject. Even if I select both open questions, and questions asked within the past 7 days, I still get questions from 2 years ago.

Does anyone know what is happening?

Update:

So that being said, why would it have been working for me until just last week?

Apparently there is a glitch with the advanced search at the moment, if you look at this pinned thread on The Yahoo! Suggestions Doard you'll see that it is being dealt with by staff.

The advanced search has not worked since they tried to fix it about 18 months ago. It has just never worked properly. Pretty bad for an internet search company. There is a hope. When you do the advanced search, at the bottom of the search results will be an option to turn it into an RSS feed. In the RSS feed, the results will at least be sorted from newest to oldest.

There is another couple of possibilities. Try running the search with your firewall and/or virus checker turned off and see if either helps. Also, make sure you have the latest Java, Shockwave, and Flash installed. Some of the software changes they are makings in the background may impact the search.

Exactly, I have had the same problem. Instead of using the search engine here I just go on Google, type the keywords + yahoo answers and I get good results.
