Anyone find problems at their first ultrasound?
I had an ultrasound today. This is my third pregnancy so i have had them before. With all of my previous ultrasounds they have shown me the heart beat and at least something on the screen. Today, she didnt say anything at all and the angle she had the screen at I didn't get to see it at all. I thought I would get pics at the end and she didn't give me any all she said is I could get my results with my physician up to 48 hours. I found it odd she didn't say anything about my due date or the baby at all. If there was something wrong or if they couldn't find a heart beat would they have said something right away or would they wait 48 hours for that?

sometimes they let your doctor tell you if something is wrong so they dont have too. sometimes its nothing. but idk why she wouldnt even let you see. thats odd. maybe she was in a shitty mood?? idk but i hope everything is okay!!! good luck!

This is my first pregnancy & we had our 20 week ultrasound about 2 weeks ago. The technician showed us some stuff while she was doing it; and let us know we were having a girl. I kept asking if everything looked normal, if she was the average size for a baby of her age, etc. and she wouldn't answer any of my questions. She said that my doctor would go over the results with me. Then when I had my next OB appt the following week I found out that I have a low lying placenta; which I know is not a huge deal it can correct itself. But it would have been nice to know as I am a farmer and I have been lifting heavy things over 5 lbs since the ultrasound, and driving tractors and the combine and it would have been nice to know that maybe I shouldn't be doing that until my follow up ultrasound.

i don't think she'd make you wait and be completely silent if there was something wrong. i'm sure you'd be monitored and go in for more observation alot sooner than 48 hours later. one of my ultrasound techs is exactly like that. she wont show me the screen and i never get pictures. most of the time she just hurries to see where the baby is, check the heart rate, and while talking the entire time while i'm trying to focus on craning my neck to see the screen, she quickly switches off the monitor and never mentions anything about my baby's weight, position, or anything. some techs are just doing their job and absolutely nothing more. it's annoying.

I wouldn't worry to much...89% of ultra sound technicians wont tell you anything. Not after some have been sued for answering questions they weren't qualified to, and gave wrong answers. More often than not lately, unless it is your doctor doing it, you get...sorry I can't tell you anything you need to wait to hear the results from your doctor.
This does nothing to calm your fears though, since it could still go both ways...but worrying about something you can't really control right now, isn't good for you, or the baby.

It does sound a bit odd but everyone does things different with my first ultra sound it was too early too see anything at all.... so i had to go back a few weeks later, it depends if u know how far along u are roughly... but if u are far enough gone they should of told u when the due date was u should of asked them more questions... try not too stress urself out and wait till u go back to ur doctor

i could think of the doctor could have advised you that day which you're pregnant. they are insane in the event that they permit you bypass days and days without telling you. additionally, ultrasound techs continuously make me problem. regrettably, they at the instant are not allowed to declare lots, because it extremely is too lots of a legal duty. additionally, every time an ultrasound is carried out, your heartbeat could be heard. in case you have been pregnant, you may additionally hear the child's heartbeat yet i could parent it became your's you heard. additionally, why do dwelling house assessments not artwork for you? they could could desire to coach useful if a infant's heartbeat became heard. If not, then your hormone ranges would not be transforming into properly. i could in simple terms call them first component interior the morning and demand an answer. It sounds to me they could have in simple terms got here across something (not a infant) that they want to chat to you approximately. ought to be intense yet ought to be not something. sturdy success.

When I went in for my first ultrasound with my first baby they saw a clump in the umbilical cord coming out of her belly. The dumb*ss tech got me hella scared saying something about it with no doc around to tell me what was up. My AFP came back positive and my baby was born with gastoscisis. Her intestines were on the outside of her belly, kinked up. They had to perform surgery when she was 3 hours old she lost most of her intestines. She is now almost four and very very healthy:)
