Basement odor pew we?

Florida highlands.Basement odor in winter when dry but not during monsoon season. Not a mildew smell but more a cave or mine scent.Any ideas?"

i'm on the ridge its a desert 3 day after a deluge.Dry,dry,dr ...I suspect to dry.Any thoughts in that direction

    run a dehumidifier

    If you have a sump pump, it could be stagnant water from no use.
