Just got a young puppy (3 months) and am going on vacation. Is it bad to board it at a kennel so young?
Would it be worse to take the puppy with me? I'm flying back east for xmas and will be there for about a week and a half? The trip includes multiple flights.
I'm worried about taking the puppy because I'm afraid it will get sick. Any advice you can offer is appreciated.

I don't think it's a matter of the kennel "ruining" your dog, my doggy daycare is great and I would be 100% comfortable with leaving my dog there while I was on vacation.
But the problem is you may not want to leave him there for the simple fact that he probably isn't fully vaccinated yet.
Call your airline and see if the puppy can board with you in a carrier. Some airlines let you, like Westjet.

Most boarding kennels will not accept dogs under 16 weeks of age and without a completed vaccination series.
Kenneling dogs is extremely stressful, doubly so on young pups. It places them at risk for picking up parasites and kennel cough, even if vaccinated for Bordetalla.
I would recommend either taking the pet with you or having a friend pet-sit while away. I have flown with dogs and puppies across the US and into Europe. They tolerate the few hours of the airline trip very well and overall it is much less stressful than spending ten days with barking, stressed dogs among strangers in a kennel run.

No that fine but research some of the kennels around you. You will want to find a place that will have a lot of interaction and not just put him in a kennel and leave him.

No, I would board him with a friend. My friend kenneled her puppy and after that week he was afraid of other dogs and was never the same. I would put him with a friend, who can watch him 24/7

Theoretically if he's had all his vaccinations I'm sure he can be.
But I'm not sure I'd be comfortable boarding a pup at that age. Try and find a trusted friend or relative who would look after him in a home environment.

Kenneling him will be bad. It may traumatize him and create a separation anxiety issue in him that does not exist, now.
Discuss the risks to his health with your veterinarian.
