Isn't "Thug Angel" an oxymoron?
one is a thug - bad guy who mugs, robs, etc.
the other is a handmaiden for God and Jesus who are part of spiritual light
What do you say????

Not Thug. T.H.U.G.
Its an acronym. Tupac invented it and redefined it.
"I'm not a thug because I rob and rape people, I'm a thug because I'm from the gutter and I'm still here" - Tupac
The dictionary definition of thug is not the same definition it has in hip hop culture. Just like the N word is different from the N word with an "A" at the end instead of an "ER" at the end. It's used differently. Thug means somebody who has came from the bottom and made it to the top or made it through the hard times they were born in, a survivor.
The one who robs and mugs people is a "jacka". The one who shoots and kills people is a "killa". The one who lives a gang lifestyle is a "gangsta". Ice Cube defined the differences between words like this in the song "The Gangsta, The Killa, and The Dope Deala".
Source(s): The interview where Tupac said that is in the music video for changes. He talks about it at 1:25 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Y9-JlSRXw - 1 decade ago
