Cat food that doesn't have corn as the first ingredient?

I am looking for a cat food that the first ingredient is not corn. Can you please help? Please tell me the brand and if they also have kitten food. Thanks!

Update:

Could you also give me an idea of where to find the feed?

    I can help! :)

    Wellness http://www.wellnesspetfood.com/

(This brand has kitten food, but the best variety they offer is CORE, which is for all life stages.)

    EVO http://www.evopet.com/products/default.asp?id=1500

    (For cats and kittens)

    Natural Balance http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/

    Solid Gold http://www.solidgoldhealth.com/

    Orijen http://www.orijen.ca/

(The Cat and Kitten formula is fine for all life stages)

Wellness, Natural Balance and Solid Gold are all stocked by PetCo. As for Orijen and Evo, they're a bit harder to find. Each website has a store locater where you just type in your zipcode.

You want a food that doesn't have corn - period! The manufactures can be pretty tricky, and list corn in multiple forms so that you, the buyer, are fooled. Corn can hide as many things - corn, corn meal, ground corn, ground yellow corn, and maize. So it might say chicken, corn, ground yellow corn, corn meal. Because they are listed separately you'd think it was mostly chicken, but it's really mostly corn.

At the budget end, you can get Petsmart's Authority brand. Very decent food, but low priced. Next would be Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul. Better still would be the premium brands like Natural Balance, Wellness, and Blue Buffalo. And better yet would be a grain-free food like Innova' EVO, Wellness Core, and Blue Buffalo Wilderness. The Authority has a kitten formula, as do Wellness and Blue Buffalo. If you feed one of the premium foods though, they are made for all life stages and pack more nutrition in them than any of the grocery store kitten formulas (and for anyone who doesn't believe me, I challenge you to pick them up and read the ingredient/nutrition analysis for yourself).

My foster kittens are all fed Innova's EVO - and they thrive!

There have been a lot of good answers, suggesting brands that I would suggest to you - Wellnesss, Innova, etc. Felidae is another good one - there's a variety called Cat and Kitten food, and also Platinum. But really, any food of better quality will be perfectly ok for a kitten to eat, because it will supply the protein and fat necessary for growth. I'm going to chime in with an additional thought. If these brands seem more expensive than what you are currently feeding your feline friends, console yourself and your budget with this: I have learned by hard experience that the less I spend on cat food, the more I spend at the veterinary clinic. Another thing is, choosing to spend the money on a better quality food may turn out to be more cost effective than you expect. Here is why - the better quality foods have less filler (cheap plant matter) and so are more nutritionally dense. So cats who are eating the better stuff are more satisfied eating smaller portions. This results in the 4 lb bag of $15 lasting as much as twice as long as the 4 lb bag of $9 food. As an example, my cats used to eat 1 cup per day each of Purina One Urinary Tract Care, but when I switched to Felidae Platinum, they were perfectly happy with 1/2 cup of kibble per day. (Then I realized that they were even healthier eating mostly canned food, and found that they again would be satisfied and more energetic on portions of Wellness, Innova, and Natural Balance canned foods that were half the size of the portions of Iams or Hill's that they wanted.) And because the better foods are easier to digest, the cats digest more of it, resulting in the incalculable bonus of smaller, less... um... fragrant... poop for you to clean out of their litter boxes.

Pet supply stores would carry good foods at reasonable cost.

    Wysong Vitality

    Royal Canin Siamese 38

    Wellness

    Wellness Core

    Fromm Duck or Salmon

    EVO

    Prairie

the list goes on. Any of these are good foods.
