Using a name that has meaning?
If you liked a weird name....if it had some sort of special meaning to you. Knowing that it was "different or weird" and that people might sneer or make rude remarks about your choice....would your love for the name and the meaning mean more than what people think?
The reason I'm asking is because I am insanely in love with the name Zuzu from the movie It's a Wonderful Life, which is an amazing movie and was always a favorite of my daddy's and our family and is now a favorite of mine and my boyfriend's. The daughter in the movie, they call her Zuzu though they never say if that's her real name or a nickname. And I am in love with it, I think I could only use it as a middle name but I would still love to use it. So it has a really big special meaning, now should I let society and other people stop me from using it (when we have kids) or go with what I think and want?
Also can you suggest some names that use Zuzu as the middle name, I'm having a hard time finding things even if it only becomes a "dream name".
Thanks guys :)

It's not too weird. If I met a girl named Zuzu I wouldn't find it that unusual, but the inevitable question will always be 'Oh what's that short for?' so I'd suggest giving her a name like Zuleika (means fair, brilliant and lovely) - not very nice, but there was a girl in my year at school called Zaleika and she was nicknamed Zaza...
Zulema is a name too, it means 'peace'...
Or Susanna - that could very easily be shortened to Zuzu.
I think if you like Zuzu, just use Zuzu!!!
You could make it a double barrelled first name if you wanted it to be more formal -
Zuzu-Rose
Zuzu-Wren
I like the name Astrid because it reminds me of the beautiful Astrid Kirchherr, and even though everyone hates it, I'm not changing my mind! I also like Yoko but I'm not quite that brave, and I'm not a big Yoko Ono fan... If it has a good meaning for you, and it has warm connotations, don't listen to anyone.

Maybe something like Susanne. Or that has an SU would be a good nickname as Zuzu
These are Zu names I found listed for girls you might be able to use ZUZU as a nickname for.
ZUNA
ZURI
ZURIEL
ZURINA
ZUWENA
ZUZANA
ZUZELA
ZULA
I think it'd be find using it as a middle name. I would go with first name as she might be teased, which is a shame because it has a great meaning to you.
All else fails just name her names you like and call her ZUZU despite if it goes or not.

Yes people would still sneer. People are ignorant. They think a name is not a name or not good enough just because they've never heard of it. If we got rid of names just because someone or a certain group of people on this site had never heard of the name before a lot of us would be nameless. Personally I don't like the name Zuzu not because I've never heard of it but because it's not well my sort of name if you know what I mean.
Zuzu Grace
Zuzu Tessa
Zuzu Charlotte
Zuzu Cassandra
Zuzu Kimberly
