How many people would be interested in adopting from Mexico?

I have been in the process of adopting my niece from Mexico and I have realized that if you don't have the right connections it can be a very difficult process. Luckily my brother is friends with a lawyer who handles adoptions so the process has not been as difficult for me. My question is how many people would be interested in getting assistance through the adoption process from Mexico? I am thinking about starting an agency since there are so many children in Mexico who need homes but there is so much red tape it makes it difficult. Please let me know your opinions . No rude responses please.

Update:

Thanks. I tried adopting from foster care a couple of years ago when I met this little girl and her brother . But the birth mother never gave up her rights so they are condemned to the system until they turn 18.

Update 2:

Well I only ask to see if there is a need for an agency that could simplify the process. Mexican adoptions typically cost around 20,000 dollars and that seems a little expensive to me. But with all the paperwork and running around I've had to do I can certainly understand the price.

Most people don't care about the country of origin.....they just want healthy babies and toddlers but I think you already know that.

Its probably more difficult for you then the average Pap because what you are essentially doing is trying to use the adoption system to get your niece into the states. Child traffickers or smugglers have been doing it for years and the federal gov't is aware of it just like they are with border jumpers.

What you are doing is no different than a foreigner paying a US citizen to marry them just to gain US residency.

I agree with you it would be a great idea to open an agency, but how do you go about doing that?

The people who posted really dont have a clue about the situation down there, the economy i mean

and how people live there actually, I came to the US 10 yrs ago, and since I was only able to

conceive once due to endometriosis I became sterile and tried to adopt but the fact is the money

factor is expensive, and there are so many children in (orfanatorios) orphanages where they really

just keep the kids there but the government doesnt do much for them, almost nothing at all.

So the catholic church does most of the caring for them, or people like me who lived there, people

volunteer and take a kid or 2 to the movies, or take a food basket to the priest or just cash for

them to buy food, I have a friend who has devoted her last 5 yrs to feed these children. But you

just cant judge and tell people Oh teach women how to take care of their babies instead of giving

them up, when they dont even have enough money to eat or survive,(posts). recently due to the recession

in Mexico alot of young men/teenagers/are killing themselves, hanging themselves, the lack of

work is ever scarce than it is here in the US, at least here theres food stamps, unemployment

food shelters, soup kitchens, down there there isnt anything like this, no job, no money, no food

I value your bravery for trying to open up an agency but first i would advice you to ask how much

it would really cost you to do this. If you need any type of notarizing paperwork or translation I

can help you with that (im a bilingual notary)

    I wish I could, But I can't.

There are so many american children sitting in foster homes right now that I think I have to give back to MY country instead of some else's at the moment.

[ That was not intended in any rude or racist way that it can be interpreted! I simply meant that I must do what I can to help my country before someone else's, selfish it may seem, but it's My opinion ]

No, not me. But I think it is nice you are adopting your niece. If I were to adopt again it would be from foster care.
