I feel even after all those you mentioned the biggest fail are the school systems. I would never put my child in public schools. I will be going broke before i go for public schools. I think the health care reform could work, somewhere else. Not here.
Delina- Who likes medicare or the VA? My uncle a marine vet who suffered his whole life due to war was kicked out of two VA hospitals to fight a leg infection. Eventually the infection tainted his blood and he passed. He got his leg amputated too late on his families expenses. Yes we were happy to help him out but we were only so late. If the VA accepted his care he would be here today.
Lady shondra- Yes. I have seen it done to quite a few of our war vets. Not just my Uncle. A close friend of his died because the VA denied him of hemodialysis treatment. He didn't qualify one way or another for Medicare.
Delina- Well your family member must have been more important than the millions who don't receive treatment for war injuries. Maybe he was friends with the right person. Or maybe he was better liked than my Uncle and his friends from war. Or maybe you just made it up. Also note that Fedex is private owned dumbass.

well this is the first time the government has been in charge of delivery of vaccines and we see how well they have handled that. there isn't even one agency that you can name that they run effectively but yet they will magically be able to overcome this and we must trust them with our lives and 1/6th of our economy.
this so called health care bill isn't about health, it is about control on every level of our lives. wake up ppl.
the end result of every thing this admin is trying to ram down our throats has the end result of 'redistribution' and unprecedented executive power expansion. in other words, socialism.
ps Jimmy: the VA did the same to my brother, he died three years ago after horrible suffering. the wound is still fresh.
ps 2, we MUST pay to ss and medicare, we MUST be on medicare at age 65, we do not get a choice and if you look at what they were suppose to be and what they became, you would understand why they are both broke and may soon end at any time leaving those who has no CHOICE totally out! you most likely will never see either take care of you when u are age 65 so don't be so sure they are so wonderful.
btw: congress doesn't subscibe or pay into either of these programs and they also excluded themselves from this wonderful plan they want for us. that should tell you something if you have half a brain.

As a marine and an Iraq war veteran i can confidently say that the VA hospitals are a joke. I was a patient a few times at a local VA and also have brought patients to VA hospitals. I have had to transport patients to VA hospitals of their choice only to bring them somewhere else when we got to the ER. Sometimes for life and death emergencies. The system has failed on many levels besides that anyways. I just wanted to give my experience about VA hospitals. Does every war vet like VA's? No. Do some like them? Yes. Although no one that i know.

i am 71 years old and still have to work to maintain my own household. i would give up medicare and social security in a heart beat to know that i would be leaving a better chance of preserving our way of life for my children, grand children, great grand children, but unlike many seniors i do have the option to live with my children. they ask on a regular basis. and all have made provisions for me at their homes for the time when i need it. but mine were raised that way, with grands and aunts and uncles.
was taught as a child to never trust a politician. and boy have they proven that right.

No because it is more about politics than people's health. Look at Medicare, Medicaid, health care for Veterans. None of that stuff works like it is supposed to. What will make this different?
I'm still finding it hard to believe that people trust politicians. Our constitution was supposed to put a limit on government power and it seems to be expanding everywhere you look.
If all this spending and borrowing keeps going on we won't have to worry about the government running it, we'll have to worry about China calling in our debt and them taking care of us. Scary.

Are you talking about the same Federal Government that runs the flawless War on Terror?
The folks behind the ultra-efficient, always-gets-it-right Pentagon?
If we say it, it MUST be true?
THAT Federal Government?

Conservatives wreck every program they can get their hands on, and then complain that government "can't do anything right." You're like someone who takes a dump on the rug and then complains that the room stinks.
Your argument is that a program that almost every other developed country on the planet has is too complicated for America. Because apparently you think America is just full of incompetents and imbeciles, and you're willing to MAKE it that way if it's not already.
You seem to believe that the for-profit corporations that have given us the most effective health care in the world are doing a great job of it. I am willing to bet you're wrong.

I have been saying the same thing for a very long time. With their track record I don't see how any one could have any faith in the government getting this right

You trust them to run the military don't you?
And they run medicaid, medicare and the VA which people who receive those services love and would n't want to get rid off. In fact they want those programs to be given more funds if you go by what seniors and vets say....
By the way do you use FedEx or USPS when you mail your payments to creditcards, etc.?
Do you call a private security company when a crime has been comitted
Do you call a private fire fighter company when a house or business is burning.
Health care has been private since, forever really, which means they've had about 200 years to get it right and THEY HAVEN'T
Really Jimmy? your uncle ONE person had a bad experience and suddenly NOBODY likes it. Well my WWII vet father in law and Vietnam vet brothers in law loved it. But let's do an experiment. Let's introduce a bill trying to get rid of it and see what happens.

no more than the worlds greatest military power can be trusted to defend its own HQ.
(whats up with that?)
I don't care who is President, I don't TRUST the system.
