Why is it that those with out faith have to bash or be rude to those with it?
It is coming into Christmas time. A time of good will and faith in something greater than ourselves. Why do some believe that they must always bash those who are truly faithful? Why do you feel the need to be rude, spiteful or just plain mean? I am not an unintelligent person just because I have faith in something greater than I am. Also why do they focus on Christians? Why not Muslims, Buddhist, or hindus?
Be nice I'm not attacking you just wondering why you feel that you need to do this. Rudeness just shows your insecurities so I challenge you to be polite and give an Honest answer.
ETA: those with faith do not feel they are worshipping "faries." What is wrong with a belief in something greater than yourself? Why is that wrong?
Sion I always try very hard to respect others views. The least some can do is to give the same respect. If a question is asked of "Christians" or any other faith they don't want an answer from a thousand Athiests telling them they are wrong. They want an honest answer from who the question is address to.
I try very hard not to generalize as a home schooling mom I get enough of that in the home school section. Sorry if I did, it was not delibrate. I said SOME not ALL. I know there are some out there who can be very polite. It is the ones who feel that they must answer a qusetion directed to Christians with a sarcastic answer of the flying spaghetti monster is more real that Jesus Christ. Or some other such nonsence. I try not to tell those with no faith that they are wrong. I have Athiest friends and they know I'm a Christian. Its not an issue with them.
Religion is one of those topics that is sensitive to every person. I feel that I should not try to control what others believe in any way. I hold the constitution dear to me and I hate to see groups like the ACLU fighting to make it illegal to have a picture of Jesus Christ or the 10 commandments (they are good rules to live by for anyone). If you don't want to have laws forceign you to live one way then do the same for us!
Soulless you rejected the challenge to not be rude but your answer was still polite. Go figure!

It's a retaliation against those religious people who feel some insane compulsion to interfere with the rest of us, and of course where you're writing from Christians get the flak because they're in the majority. When Christians will keep themselves to themselves and stop trying to convert us, spread their propaganda, and (I feel this one deeply and personally) stop trying to deny people basic human rights just because of their sexual orientation, I'll keep myself to myself.

I am Wiccan and to me the Winter Solstice is an important time. I try to show respect to all religions and even have a Christmas tree, except I call it a Yule tree. But I ask you in, why do so many people bash me for praying to Zeus, when my personal belief shouldn't affect them, yet they still insult me and tell me I am wrong. Every group (including Atheists) will have it's extremists and the only way they will ever be confident is to bring down others. I agree with you in that it is their insecurities showing when they insult my religion. But I also feel that everyone deserves their rite to believe or not believe. To be polite, or to be rude... Free-will. The choice to either accept the laws of Karma, or ignore them. Those who love, are loved in return. Blessed Be :-)

I reject your challenge. If you think you'll use some sort of psychology to make me be polite, you fail. I'm polite if I think the question warrants it. Your attempt to manipulate me means I don't think you warrant politeness.
To answer your question, you claim we bash you for your faith, that we think you are less intelligent. If that annoys you, then why do so many Christians infer that I am so much less intelligent and moral by attempting to have their beliefs forced upon me by legislation? If you believe I am your equal, then you would allow me to choose my religious beliefs, even if they are different to yours, instead of making your beliefs law.
Why Christians? Because you are most prevalent here. If the Muslims and Hindus were as prolific in asking questions, especially those directed at atheists, we would answer them as well, and in the same manner in which we answer Christians. Your persecution complex has little validity apart from your desire to be persecuted. I assume it makes you feel justified in your poor treatment of everyone who believes differently than you.
As for the "coming into Christmas time", irrelevant. Christmas is no more a time of goodwill than any other day of the year. Why do you need a day set aside to express goodwill? I try to do that every day of the year.

I understand what you are saying, but you also have to admit that those with religious beliefs do the same. Not all do it, but they do. It's one thing to not believe as the religious do and express your opinion when asked, but its another thing when you go out of your way to bash someone for their personal beliefs; this happens on YA all the time from both atheists and those with religious beliefs. You have atheists "answering" questions that are meant for a specific religion, and you have religious believers "answering" questions that are meant only for atheist. I am glad that you asked this question, although looking at some of the answers you have received, one could almost assume that no one believes in mutual respect. Apparently in our culture, respect is only warranted if you have similar beliefs.

The honest answer is that you are only guilty of the most common failing of generalizing.
You cannot apply what you said to all atheists anymore than I can judge all christians by the Westboro Baptist Church.
I have never posted a rude question to christians but I might suggest that you look around at the questions posed by christians and aimed at atheists.
I do not attack but I do defend myself. Why do I have to defend myself?
Because that total stranger that came to my door completely uninvited wanted to tell me the good news that I will burn in hell forever because god loves me. Trust me, that was not a Buddhist or Hindu.

right it incredibly is the element there are Muslim extremist international locations that instruct their babies that people who're no longer Muslim are infidels it incredibly is even taught in the Quran. And the flaws they be attentive to with regard to usa is what they're taught that it incredibly is a sinful u . s . crammed with evil. Now of direction the Muslims who definitely stay contained in usa relish their freedoms and that they start to appreciate the custom so if some stupid action picture like the Innocence of Muslims is shown off of Youtube they do no longer take it in my opinion. Now because of the fact those extremist Muslims in those Muslim international locations are taught usa is sinful and evil whilst they see something like that stupid action picture the Innocence of Muslims they take this as an attack against their faith and that they react violently. the single factor it relatively is lacking from the classes of the Quran is to love your enemies meaning even people who persecute you for this reason Christians react in a diverse way from Muslims whilst their religious ideals are attacked. i'm able to assist you be attentive to this nevertheless the movements of those extremist Muslims are casting a destructive shadow upon all Muslims even people who such as you mentioned practice tolerance in direction of different religions.

Listen, they get something out of trashing what people find sacred. It probably isn't that they hate Christians so much per se, but they know God means a lot to us, and they want to exploit that. It is something about their nature. Not all, of course, but many on here.
If I were you, I'd stay away near Christmas. I always do.

Oh I'm MUCH harder on mulsims than christians, but how much respect do you have for ANY adults that believe in Santa Claus? That's how much respect I have for your religious beliefs.

Generalization FAIL.

Same reason as those with some faith have to bash and be rude to those without it.
Your all wrong and can't admit it.
