prednisone and side effects?

my neighbor has been taken prednisone since June 9 . She went down from 30 milligrams to 15 milligrams. She hasn't gained weight .All of the side effects are listed. Does that mean that she's going to have some or all of the effects?

It's an individual thing. Long term prednisone use may result in Cushing's disease. This is why doctors try to keep doses low and the treatment time short.

No. I've been on prednisone for 25 years, currently taking a base does of 12.5 mg daily, and get almost no side effects. In fact, for a while I lost weight. I only get side effects when I have to increase the dose a lot for the flu or something. Even then it's not serious. Just a bit of acne.

It depends on a person's own metabolism I suppose. Some people on prednisone get terrible side effects.

Sounds like she's lucky, like me.
