Rat had surgery and popped open a stitch... ?

It was a small incision to remove a tumor that only had about 2 stitches but I noticed its wide open now. Its quite raw looking but its not really bleeding. I've been keeping an eye on her but what should I do? Is it ok to let it heal on its own? Should I take her to the vet to have it restitched? If so is it ok to wait till morning to take her?

There isn't any blood in her cage. Like I said its not really bleeding. Her cage is clean by the way I just cleaned her.

i would take her to the vet because even if it isn't bleeding, if the wound is open, and raw, it is very likely that it will get infected if it isn't taken care of. I mean the rat is going to soil her shavings and then drag the open wound through it, that can't be good, definitely take her in, but it could probably wait until morning, i doubt she will die of gangrene over night.

Yes you must get her back to the vet to get it restitched. It is very easy for them to contract an infection through an open wound and it could be lethal as the infection can spread inside of her. You can wait until the morning, but until then make sure to keep it clean. Wipe it gently with a wet warm cloth and a tiny bit of hand soap. If you have neosporan around, put some on there aswell. Hope this helps and good luck!

I'd give the vet a call and see what they say about it, if its not bleeding or weeping it may be ok until morning, but you need to watch that dust etc doesn't get in, or that it doesn't get infected, so I'd think it would need to be restitched, But call the vet and see what they say, whether to bring her in or just leave it
