Look at Chase think he knows exactly what happens in way, simply because he's an MP. Try reading some history buddy, Air Force combat control along side Army Special Forces entered Afghanistan long before any other service. Air Force fighters and bombers were there not to long after those special tactics and special forces got there to begin a bombing campaign. Long story short, it really kind of depends because different campaigns require different units. Don't let anyone from a certain service try and talk themselves up, that they're the first to go last to know crap. While it's true Marines are considered an expeditionary force, they just entered SOCOM like 3 years ago.

it's not that simple. Each situation is different, and the basic premise now is *joint* warfare. It's not as if all the Marines go in, take care of business, and then call the Army. The different levels from all the branches work together. Mostly, first in is SPECOPS from all services and intel agents, with different units depending on the specific missions. Soon after/simultaneously, Air Force air power (as opposed to SPECOPS, etc) and related assets gain air superiority. Depending on the location, Navy sea power (as opposed to SPECOPS, etc) will aim for like superiority. The rest of the forces continue to build from there. It's all situation-dependent, though.

Air Force and /or the Navy. The Navy will probably be deployed first and the Air Force will recon the area to be attacked by the Army and the Marines. In other words, they would ALL be involved.

Tell me te Marines aren't the first to go? Please tell me that lie, you know good and well it's true. And just so you know the Marines entered USSOCOM in 05 as MARSOC. They used to be Force Recon. Now the USMC has Recon, MARSOC and some Force Recon. And since you think the Marines are newly introduced to Recon activities, then why did they have a Recon unit back in 1957?
