How do you record records to tape (audio cassette)?

I tried looking this up on Google and Yahoo!, and all I get are instructions on how to digitalize these forms of media... so, how can I do this? The only reason I ask is because my dad keeps all his tape/record stuff in his little crap-shack and I'd like to listen to the recorded tapes instead of freezing my butt off there. Thanks!

You need a preamplifier for the record player. Most older stereos have a "phono" input -- that's what you need. Connect the record player to the phono input of an amplifier (sounds like you probably have that already, since you are listening to records in the 'shack').

Then connect the LINE OUT (left and right) from the back of the amplifier to the LINE IN of a cassette recorder.

Put in a blank 90 minute cassette, start it recording, then put the needle on the record to play it.

When the record album side is done, stop the tape. OR.. if you are recording 45s, let the tape roll and get the next one on the platter ASAP. When you are done recording 45s, stop the tape.
