I'm starting to branch out into different genres and I'm starting some projects where I take samples from other songs and cut, paste, and make it into a rap track. What are you supposed to do when doing this to make it all legally kosher? Thanks, your answers are always appreciated!

I've been recording drums for a while, trying to experiment with several effects. I've been listening to a lot more drum-driven music lately (mostly Genesis/Phil Collins), and some of the time it sounds like they record their drum tracks with the snare off. Is it worth a shot, or not? Thanks

I'm trying to work with Finale PrintMusic and Apple Garageband side-by-side because in Garageband it doesn't transpose the instruments correctly and puts them in weird clefs; I want to correct this in Finale, but I can't since it can only import XML files (garageband exports sheet music in PDF). I left to get something, and my little brother got hold of my computer; after restarting it (and ever since then), after I log in there's a disk image called "BOOTCAMP" on my desktop. I don't know how to get rid of it, but I'd love to since it's taking up about 6 GB of space on my actual hard drive. How do I get rid of it? Thanks, your answers are always appreciated!

I'm starting to collect vinyl and I got 3 new vinyl records this year (the fourth won't come until January due to a supply snafu), and I want to get my own stereo equipment so when I go off to college I can listen to vinyl in my dorm, too. That being said, I've looked around Amazon and their list is awfully shabby; I was eyeing a Sony receiver some time until I found out it didn't have a phono port for a turntable :(

So, my question's this: What's a good stereo receiver for under $150? If that's a problem, however, what stereo equipment (including a turntable) should I get that's under a price total of $350? Thanks, your answers are always appreciated!

I've had a Time Capsule on my hands for some time and I've been itching to use it ever since I got it last year. The only problem is that my ISP (FrontierNet) connects through a phone-line and the Time Capsule lacks 56k modem ports... only Ethernet ports. Are there ways to connect a router in this manner? I've been thinking that there's some kind of ethernet-to-phone line converter out there but I haven't found it yet. Thanks, your answers are always appreciated.

I tried looking this up on Google and Yahoo!, and all I get are instructions on how to digitalize these forms of media... so, how can I do this? The only reason I ask is because my dad keeps all his tape/record stuff in his little crap-shack and I'd like to listen to the recorded tapes instead of freezing my butt off there. Thanks!

I found out that you can record audio my camera, so i decided to give it a try; unfortunately, I can't find the recorded file anywhere. I prefer vinyl LPs over CDs, so I really want to invest in a turntable soon. I don't know what to get other than the turntable and the speakers though; do you need a stereo receiver, too? If so/not, what else should I get with it? Thanks, your answers are highly appreciated!

Okay, I tried plugging in my camera through the hub on my keyboard (it worked), then when I unplugged it and plugged my iPod USB connector back in it says something like "This USB device needs more power than is available". I tried unplugging the thing into another USB port and it still doesn't work! Can I get it to work if I have a seperate USB hub, or will I have to buy a 3rd-party connector? You have to build the app yourself on your computer (They just give the binary). How can I get it to work? I've heard you can use it on a Mac, but the site says it's only compatible with DOS and Linux. Thanks!

I bought a Time Capsule a few months back, and I can't use it; it was a total waste of $300. I bought it at the Fifth Ave. Apple Store in NYC and I want to return it to an Apple Store in Des Moines, IA. I already have AppleCare for my iMac, so it should be covered under the extended warranty for it. Can I return it? If not, is there anything else I should be worried about other than the "Apple tax"?
