Why do some people beleive that Climate change is not real or that man does not cause it?
I do believe that man is in some way responsible for climate change, BUT whether we are or not we, as humanity need to do something right NOW!
I seriously doubt we will stop climate change altogether but we can slow it down and reduce it's impact, i don't think people realize that their children and their children's children WILL have to deal with the catastrophic damage climate change will cause, in the next few decades i think climate change will start to ravage our world, IF we do not come up with a way to tackle it.
If we do not do anything and this summit at Copenhagen turns out to be all words and no action then Humanity, animal and plant life all face extinction.

People are very good at finding ways to believe what they want to believe. A lot of people are scared about climate change and the potential consequences. It will lead to carbon regulation, which will lead to higher energy and gas prices. It will lead to more government regulation and control. Conservatives tend to be very much against these things, so their solution is to deny the problem exists so they can oppose the solutions.
Denial is a natural reaction to fear, but unfortunately denying a problem doesn't make it go away.

Ya know, NASA just released a new scientific study about two week ago The study measured the heat loss from the atmosphere into space. All the climate scientist had said, there was little or no heat loss into space, they had no evidence either way, but they just decided there was no heat loss. So all the climate change computer models, were programed with no heat loss and that all heat would be trapped in the atmosphere. 2. Well NASA finally decides to measure heat loss into space and finds That wow, massive amount of heat is lost into space everyday, especially over the oceans Which the climate scientist all said trapped heat, not released it. 3. So now, every climate change computer model, are all INVALID, because they all used fake data. 4. Every time a data point is actually looked into, they keep finding that the data was actually faked or twisted into what the scientist wanted it to be, not what it actually was. 5. Why is climate change political ? because those who believe in it, want the government to pass massive new regulations and tax's to somehow combat it. Isn't that a political act ?

We may be contributing to a little of the warming. There is the question of how much. Usually we only get annodoctal evidence for that. But lets look at the change that is being seen.
They say the seas are rising and are going to swallow up cities. Yes the seas are rising, but by only 2mm/year. That means in 100 years increase of this kind would make the seas rise less than a foot. Not really going to swallow us up.
They say the temp are increasing beyond anything ever seen. The temps are a little higher, the last 100 years have seen a .7 degree increase. It is high debated as to whether the medieval warming period was warmer than it is today. Some have it as 2-3 degrees warmer, some have it as .5 degrees cooler.
They say there will be more hurricans and tornadoes. There has been no increase at all in the frequencies of hurricane or tornadoes.
They say there will be more droughts and flooding. We have not really seen this materialize yet. There is always drought and flooding in some location, so while I have no doubt that people can point to a flood here or a drought there, they really haven't shown an increase in frequency.
So while I will agree that we should work towards reducing CO2 emissions, I can't agree to a tax, when we are in the middle of a recession. Also I don't like the seemingly endless goal of the Al Gore's of the world to spread panic.
Take Biofuels. When burning, these release as much CO2 as the fossil fuels. They are said to be cleaner because the plants used in creation of biofuel, use as much CO2 as what is being placed back into the atmosphere when burning. The problem with their figures are that the lind in which the biofuels are being grown already had vegetation, that vegetation was already taking CO2 from the atmosphere. So there is realyl no decrease in CO2 in the atmosphere between biofuels and fossil fuels, but biofuels cost more. In a state of panic, you can push through ideas like this. If we realize that something should be done, but we have time to come to an informed decision, we can look to and develop better sources of energy.

This is a trick question... huh
Fact: Climate change has been going on for millions of years!
Long before humans were burning CO2
Perhaps the problem in the not too distant future will be Global Cooling when the next ice age strikes!
Climate change has many advantages for our children and their children...
• Increased agricultural productivity & land (more rain, warmth & Co2)
• Longer growing seasons for all plant life
• Greening of some of the Earth's vast frozen land masses (Canada, Russia, China)
• Increased Co2 absorption rate
• Added habitat for wildlife
• More bountiful food for animal life
• Less food/energy requirements for animal life
• Less net global energy requirement for humans
• Less deforestation for heating fuel
• Less cold related severe weather and death
MOST IMPORTANTLY: if we are very lucky and warm enough, we may even avert the next ice age: Ice ages are not controversial ideas like global warming, they are real and acknowledged by all scientists regardless of political affiliation. They occur like clockwork, they appear very rapidly, within a few human generations, and wipe out most animal and plant life on the planet.
Save the planet and civilization support climate change!

Thanks, Craig, for illustrating what Global Warming is: panic, fear, hype, aimless guilt, and nonsense. You've veiled your whining with the words "climate change", which does continue as it always has. Climate changes. We can adapt. Without panic. The Copenhagen Conference is destined to be a debacle in many ways, but it will become synonomous with ineffective, impotent, corrupt, and conspiritorial.

Why don't you try flailing your arms around and screaming the sky is falling. You insist we have to act now whether we are causing the climate to moderate or warm. How about about standing on your head and stacking BBs. Our children's children's children are going to have to deal with the out of control spending and trashing of the constitution . All animals and plants face extinction. If you think they face extinction due to moderate increases in CO2 and temperature, you might want to retake 3rd grade science. You should stop letting others think for you and bother to learn the science instead. Politics doesn't rise to science or justify catastrophe. It is a childish politics that seeks to save the children or save the world to justify spending, taxing, and government intrusion. It is the truly ignorant that are persuaded by such nonsense.

Sorry but climate changed when the sun shut down 6 years ago and now the world is cooling. We have the potential for a new ice age in less than 10 years if the sun remains in the current deep minimum. The real controversy amongst real scientists currently is just how cold is it going to get and for how long and the best are saying check with us again in 50 years and we should be able to tell you then if we are into a full ice age or just a little ice age.
Some scientific information revealing the truth about global warming, when it happened and what probably caused it. And as well how many years, centuries or millennia it might be before the world warms up again from the coming ice age.

Alarmism is hillarious!
1. Climategate reveals both through e-mail an dthorugh analysis of the computer code released that extraordinary measrures were taken to torture the data, bias the data, manipulate the data an djust flat lie about the data in order to get the results they wanted.
2. The sun is the proimary driver. Ervery period of warming for which we have to appropriate data, links global warming with hightened period of solar activity and global cooling with periods of reduced solare activity.
3. Based on soalr activity and MOST escientists, the earth is headed into a couple of decades worth of cooling. Many man made AGW proponent have said this. Tell me, if CO2 is the prime driver then how can you have increasing levels of CO2 AND global cooling at the same time?
4. I remember Y2K. I remember many other scare mongering for profit. Now we have global warming and 2012. sorry, until I see real and incontrovertable proof then I will not be a lemming.
5. The opposite of skeptic is gullible. I strive to not be gullible .

It all has to do with what we believe...creationism versus evolution and who has power over us and the universe the earth included...better known as exceptional large egos do not worry females just like males have the same amount of this strange thing that excretes from our bodies...I am humbled by the amount I have used over the years...too late for me but perhaps others will find a way to coral this energy..an energy so powerful it defies all logic......lol.....but then what do I know since I am illogical myself...

Simply put..... there is NO credible science that support the Notion of 'man-did-it' global warming.
The cause/religion of AGW is only supported by corrupt data and wild speculation.
