For our son (25 months) it just depends on what time he got up in the morning or if I just really need a nap(since we are the only 2 home) and want him to take one with me. If he when to bed at 7pm and slept till 8:30am then he doesn't get a nap. At 2 your little one only needs 13 hrs of sleep its supposed to be 11 at night and 1 2hr nap. Now if he/she gets all 13hrs at night then they do not need a day time nap. If my son takes a nap during the day he will not go to bed till 10pm so I would much rather skip the nap all together and have him in bed by 7pm - 7:30pm.

1. When they stopped falling asleep when I tried to give them one. My older one was just over 3, actually right after his brother was born. Right when I needed the naps the most. ;-) My youngest (2) still usually takes a nap. He's starting to skip them more, so I don't think he'll make it all the way to 3 with naps.
2. Not unless they seemed really tired. That sounds likes plenty of sleep to me. My 2 year old goes to bed at 10 or 11 and wakes up 7:30 or 8. Then when he does take a nap it's usually only for an hour.

My son ( who is almost 3) decides if he wants a nap, he usually sleeps great during the night, goes to bed at 9 and wakes up at 8 or 9. but sometimes he is just tired. The last couple days he has wanted a nap, he will go up stairs by him self and lay down ( he always tells me first) I think children should be able to decide when they need to sleep. your body just knows these things. i'm sure if my son woke up at 11 30 he wouldn't be having a nap. that's alot of sleep and should be good enough. but if they are tired i would let them have a little nap maybe not as long as normal because i wouldn't want him sleeping all the time but for maybe 30 minutes or so if he seemed really tired.

1. I stopped giving my daughter a nap at a bit past three. She was not a huge nighttime sleeper so I she would not get the amount of sleep she needed if I didn't give her a nap.
2. I prolly would go on how she/he acted during the day. If she/he is happy, content, and not falling apart, I would ditch the nap. She gets a solid 14.5 hours out of 24 and that is around what they suggest for 1-2 year olds. On the upper end of that too. I think your child is doing just fine.

No, it does not sound like your child needs a nap. Some do, but some also manage to sleep long enough at night and get their quota of needed sleep for their age. All of my children go to bed between 8-10 and do not wake until 10:30 am, unless we need to be awake sooner for something. As to when they stopped, 18 months.

1 not the same age for all my kids. My 6 year old son still takes a 45 minute nap after school.
2. if the child needs it yes let him/her take a nap. If they don't, then don't force them.
I think as long as the child needs the nap they should be allowed to take it. Unless it messes up their nightly sleep routine.

My son is 3.5 and we're kind of transitioning.
He does much better with a nap but then won't go to bed at night very easily if he does get one.
22 months seems a little young to give up that nap. I think perhaps you need to try putting your kid to bed earlier and he'll get up earlier if that's what you're aiming for.

A child that age should get at LEAST 10 hours a night. Your child is getting plenty of sleep. I would recromend on only giving her/him a nap if they seem tired or cranky. My child stoped taking naps when she whas about 2 and a half.

On weekends--my 7 year old is still tired enough sometimes that he'll take an hour nap, but he has to be pretty tired.
My one year old still takes 2 naps a day.
