Has anyone ever looked at who has the overall best answers on Y!A?
Some of these people in the past two years have answered hundreds of thousands of questions. Do you think they have a regular job to occupy their time or is being on YA their whole days work?
I could care less about points and only answer the questions that I like and know something about. Its not like you get a prize for getting the most top answers!

No.
Once I learned that it was possible to have multiple accounts that can ask & answer their own questions, it all became meaningless to me.
It should be very quick & easy to post 10 questions in the morning & resolve them at night without interfering with job time.
The 1st time I ever tried cheating on a board game with my siblings, my Mom said if I win that I would know in my heart that I had not really won. Thus, no victory of success. Well, that took all the fun out of cheating! I'd never thought of it that way before.
Maybe some of the Y!A fakers have not been taught that yet.
For those who EARNED it for real, kudos & thanks for sharing a plethora of knowledge & teach the rest of us those time management skills.

I`ve never been interested in accumulating thousands of points, in fact I think I`ve go far too many. I have to admit though the TC badge is a nice addition to achieve. I seem to answer a lot of Q`s in W&W where I am the only answerer so that must be how my average is so high. I do see people on here that get thousands of points every week and I presume that they`re retired, disabled or are virtually housebound for whatever reason.

I have checked out some of those with overall best answers but I find the real best answers all over the place. I have a laugh when I give a true answer in my line of work only to have someone say it isn't so. There are a lot of important and interesting information out there though. I appreciate the good humor I find on this site though.

I can't speak for any of the other top answerer's on the senior forum tally board, but I have put alot of
thought, at times needed, for a helpful or constructive answer. I re read most of the time, to correct
my sentence structure, when that is necessary. And I don't have the desire or know how, to operate more than one avatar. I have no idea, as to how someone has the time to have several going on any given day, if that is what they do.
I'm just myself, and I don't have the need to be someone I am not. Even when the trolls come out
to play, and pay me a call. Sometimes, you really don't know who your friends are, when they have
many avatars working. But I believe in being friendly and I'm also curious as to who is behind many
an avatar mask. YA would be far less complicated, if we were all honest with who we are, what we
do, and what we're all about. Learning about people, places, and things, are sources of curiosity for me, as a senior citizen.

I enjoy being on the computer since I have retired. I also have a life other than the computer. I don't want to be in the top 5 of best answers since everyone seems to think these people have nothing else to do. I like to answer questions but I am not 'wise' or brilliant with answers. Don't be too quick to judge and not all of us are kids except at heart. Poppy

I know what you mean. They must be the ones who just answer yes or no, never ask questions, and are in it only for the points. But still, it would take some time to answer almost half a million questions like the #1 user has done.

That's easy, look at who has best answers here in Seniors. It's Shortstuff and Gladys! Everybody loves them. They're always nice and funny.
Source(s): Edit: Oh, I understand your question now...you aren't talking about just Seniors, you're talking about all of Y/A! I'll tell you, when I first came on I was in History and my scores were really high because I'm good at history. But since scores don't matter and fun does, I come here! ;-D - CJLv 61 decade ago
Diane - a lot of people are retired, have no hobbies and spend their time on YA! Sad I know, but - - - -
Also, I do not think it is the amount of answers that earn "overall best answers" - I think it is the
Quality of answers that earns this distinction.
You have excellent answers and have held "Best. . . " several times, and although you do have a lot of answers - it was the quality of your answers that got you that rating.
Good luck

Don't know and really don't care. I do think that a lot of them are just kids that don't have anything else to do.
That is kinda sad isn't it.
