Is black licorice candy poisonous to dogs?
If my 12 pound dog got into a package of all sorts, how much is dangerous?

Honestly I dont think any candy is harmful to a dog because my dog has eaten every candy known to man but it does bother me to know that he has eaten a whole package. In time he will just probably get a upset stomach and purposelly throw it all up..my dog does. My dog is a jack russell (very small) and she has eaten evrything to chocolate candy, a entire cupcake, caramel, anything you name it she has eaten! But I wouldn't worry about it too much...besides if it was you, just put yourself in your dogs position. You would regret the whole thing and have a stomach ache....cant be anything too major. What goes in must come out the other end. Hope this helps..

Horrible answer. You don't think any candy is harmful for dogs? What about chocolate? We can't base our answers on our own experiences. To everyone else: When it comes to pets, PLEASE ASK A VET. Call the emergency vet line that your vet should have. Call the ASPCA poison control line at (888) 426-4435. Do something besides going on someone's experience or opinion on this site.

Yes - see a vet now.
All forms of licorice can be harmful - licorice can cause muscle damage and lead to weakness, collapse and even death in dogs.
