Water Breaking not noticable?

Is it possible for your water to break and not notice it?

Just wondering.Im 36 weeksand I sent myself into labor a few days ago and Dilated from a 1 to a 2, Then they sent me home because i wasnt progressing, (and apparently the urine test said my water hadnt broke)

But a few hours later that night (cause i couldnt sleep) My Mucus Plug started to come out. And Now All that really comes out is a small bit of Thick White Discharge, SO im guessing the plug is gone or The discharge is the remains of it...

Anyways, Im just wondering if maybe My water might have Broke while all this was going on, and maybe i just didnt notice. I mean is that possible? My appointment isnt for another 2 days, So i was just checking.

Will it definitely be noticeable when it does break? Any explanations on the feeling would be great too! This is my first pregnancy and the Baby books dont explain it very well!!

from my experience, Yes your water can def break and you won't notice it. my first baby was born at 36 weeks on christmas day. i had already lost my mucus plus a few days before and on christmas eve i thought i was just kinda peeing in my pants a little bit. there was no huge gush or anything. i wasn't uncomfortable, it wasn't really wet, i thought i was just leaking urine, as i had been for the past few weeks... on christmas day my husband said he thought that we should go to the hospital to get checked out because of the urine leakage situation. I didn't even want to go. i had gone to the hospital like 3 times previously becasue of various things, so i was embarassed for them to turn me away again. i didn't even pack a bag. so anyway, i went to the hospital and the doctor took a look up there and then 2 minutes later, a whole team came rushing in telling me my water had been broken for so long that i was risking infection and the baby needed to come out right then, and so gave me an emergency C section. I hope my story didn't scare you, but i'm now pregnant with my second baby and wondering the same thing.. lol. i guess the moral is its better safe to get checked out then to not.

Sounds like you are just losing more of your mucus plug..it can come out over a length of time which is not uncommon. Or it could just be additional discharge. If it was your water that broke, it would be clear fluid (or pink if you also have bloody show). It can come either as a constant trickle or stream..or as a big gush. I have had my water break with both of my last two pregnancies. The 1st I was walking with contractions when I felt a pop, and then a stream went down my leg into my slipper. With my 2nd, I went to sleep with contractions and awoke at 4AM to a "pop", then sat up and it gushed out everywhere.

It could be noticeable, or it couldn't. Honestly there's no way to tell which one you could be. Some women experience the gush, some women experience a slow leak and some women never get their water broken until they're in the hospital.

If you notice more moisture in your panties than you're used to, then I would take a little visit down to labor and delivery to get tested. It's a really quick test.. they use litmus paper on the fluid they collect from your vaginal canal and if it turns a certain color, then it's positive for amniotic fluid.

Sometimes your water won't break all at once in a big gush, sometimes it will leak. But even that you would notice. When you are leaking water, you have constant watery discharge. It would soak your panties so it would be pretty obvious.

It doesn't sound like your water has broken.

this is distinctive for each guy or woman. whilst my water broke I had in basic terms stood up so it felt like i replaced into in basic terms peeing uncontrollably. My sister mentioned she gushed whilst hers broke and that i've got heard others say it trickled down their legs. you will understand whilst it happens. Plus your contractions would desire to get a splash extra advantageous whilst it does unquestionably injury. in case you think of your water can be leaking (which does ensue) call your Dr suited away. stable success

Sometimes you can have the water break up high in the uterus and it will merely trickle not gush, this happened with my first pregnancy. The sign will be it's coming from your vagina, not your urethra, it will trickle a little all the time, and you will test positive if it's checked. So yes it's possible, I just hope this hasn't happened for you and you deliver at 39 weeks or later.

Usually when your water breaks, it doesn't stop 'breaking'. Unlike how they show it in the movies, it continues to leak through your labor, until you have your baby.

it can leak slowly and if youare afraid that it is then tell your Dr at your next appt. if they are worried about it they can measure your fluid by ultrasound. it is more water like than discharge so it is more than likely just your plug or normal discharge

  • Yeah its noticable.

You'll know when the time comes.
