I know it, I can just sense it, right?

I was reading an article in the paper the other day, well, on my monitor, and there was a quote from Johan Franzen, who skated in practice the other day. It was about missing the smell of the ice, the feel of the stick, etc.

So my question is, what are some of your favorite senses in sports?

Hearing the crack of the bat, the sound of a slapshot, seeing the famous fist pump of Tiger, MJ's hanging tongue, etc, etc.

BQ: Should fantasy hockey have an IR category?

SOUND - There's this sound that a football makes as it leaves your hand as you loft a pass. Its actually when the fingertips slide off the surface.

    SMELL - Cheerleaders perfume.

    SIGHT - Cheerleaders.

    TOUCH - Cheerleaders.

    TASTE - Chee.....uh, Gatorade.

BQ: Yes it should. I don't partake in any fantasy sports and don't feel that this category should be a place where GM-wannabe's come to discuss their rosters.

My favorite senses in sports are:

The clang of a puck on the goal post especially if it is off an opposing players stick.

The bubbly rumble of the boat engine as it takes off pulling you up out of the water for some circuits around the lake. Water skiing was my only actual sports activity unless you count that pathetic attempt at softball when I was in my 40's where I was the one picking dandelions in right field.

I always hated the MJ tongue thing and LeBron chewing his nails while ON the court. I DO love watching the way guys celebrare a goal.

    BQ: Heh?

I love hearing the skate dig into the ice. And I love the opening faceoff. One moment to calm to 100 miles per hour

bq. No they should not. I run a twenty team league here on yahoo. I got a couple complaints on how I didn't have on in place. NHL doesn't have an ir like the MLB. Plus NHL players drop left and right. One ir spot won't make the biggest difference. Every team shares an equal

    opportunity for injuries

When I was in HS my favorite sense from football was the cold air and the band playing.

For hockey it was the smell of my dirty gear (dirty pads just didn't sound right...)

Baseball it was the smell of the grass.

BQ* I don't have the attention sp............
