Does it drive you crazy?

When your team has a great prospect and either trade or release them?

Blue Jackets had Filatov, an absolute fire-plug and clutch scorer. Released him...and went on a 7 game skid.

Has your team ever released or traded a player, then entered a scoring slump?

Do you consider it karma?

Oilers traded Smyth two or 3 seasons ago, and lost 19 of our last 21.

First of all, Tom is right. Filitov was loaned, so he can come back next season...but I don't think he will. The Jackets' problem right now is lack of energy. I watch them all the time (in case you couldn't tell, I am also a fan) and I don't see a spark in them. Umberger, Torres, and Nash seem to be the only ones out there trying to win. Commodore is almost non-existent when he's on the ice, Methot is afraid of the puck, Huselius can't keep the puck on his stick...the list can go on and on. They have had problems ever since Dorsett and Hejda got hurt. If you watch the games that Dorsett has playing in, the team has a different feel. They need a spark on the ice.

But back to your question. The situation that you are alluding to drives me crazy as well. I'll relate it to my past experiences with baseball. I was (and still am) an Atlanta Braves fan. They were always releasing or trading players that were injured. Inevitably, that player would end up beating the crap out of the Braves when ever they would play them again. Ron Gant did so on a regular basis. So I feel your pain.

No, but since the Sharks traded Brad Boyes, they got nothing out of his return, which I think was Jeff Jillson. I think he bolted to Europe later. Boyes became a 40 goal scorer:(

Regarding Filatov he wasn't released or traded, he was loaned back to his KHL team. He wasn't going to get the ice team to develop properly in Columbus and he wouldn't accept an assignment to junior so he was loaned back to the CSKA Moscow.

Of course it does dude my team is the Rangers. The Rangers invented and mastered the art of blowing off good young players.

Nothing drives me crazy, and I don't believe in karma.
