Is this a Christmas greeting, a holiday farewell, or a New Year wish?

Tomorrow marks the beginning

of ten days of spinning

around in my house and small kitchen.

Neighbors and family,

friends and their kids

will soon be arriving non-stop,

wanting hors dourves and

fine wine,

turkey and pies and

my specialty -

chicken curry over rice

cooked for twelve.

A drive to Lake Pleasant

with two mile hike, which

my eighty-seven year old uncle

demands that we take, complete with

interpretive guide.

Before I leave yahoo

to focus solely on

the real stuff of life,

I take this moment to tell you true -

despite recent tempers flaring

You are all the best people

who write with your hearts

as your guide.

A new decade before us,

where soon I'll turn sixty

and somewhere,

deep inside,

I fully believe that

this place will return to

the place that it once was.

Where we loved and encouraged

and chose to be bigger

because others believed us

to be.

Merry Christmas and the best 2010

for each and every one of you.

Beautiful poem ma, and I truly hope that all the hatefulness that as been around here for months will be forgotten and all may start a fresh. It has become a real downer to come to the poetry section and see nothing but nasty remarks and snide comments,... lets get back to some great writin' again!

Sounds like you will be down here for the holidays, don't work to hard and enjoy your family time.

You have been a good friend to me and I wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and Happiest of New Years!!

    **holiday hugs**

I hate to see you leave yahoo, Ma! I click on my contacts to see if you have written any new poetry as I always enjoy what you write. The food and the hike sound wonderful, and I need to get out and go hiking and working with my sewing, embroidery more often instead of sitting here looking at the "puter" screen. Angry messages on here upset me and I have never seen you angry, but upbeat and humorous in your writings. God bless and merry Christmas to you and may 2010 be a wonderful year for you.

TD are not from me either...I was taught if a person can't say something good, don't say it. Thumbs down are from a negative person.

We write because we love to write.

What a grand and selfless wish.

    Merry Christmas to everyone.

I feel like I know some of you through your writings,

for it is a type of 'fingerprint'. If we had to 'guess this poet',

I'm sure most of us would be correct.

Even though an answer is not always present, and that is something appreciated by the poet, you can be assured a heck a lot of people read even though one may have a big fat zero.

Let's see if some more creativity can come along after the holidays, and that includes the super bowl (ha).

This is a priceless gift given in the whole spirited and benevolent presence which you have shown (shone?) so clearly in the midst of silly rabble rousing rants and write-offs. I also feel this is in the process of a return to the state it was in when it enchanted me; I am going to do my best to be as benign a force as I can when something scalds my poetic pride, and when i sense need from a YAP

peer, I will give support and stay out of whatever stereotyping happens to be well, HAPPENING...but to tell the truth, I do believe that we are all learning things in leaps and bounds from this interplay, whether positive or negative, reality or imagined slight; I know that i can NEVER again try to figure out WHY was I deleted or blocked or WHO is being someone other than their usual username/avatar self, and when i do know I will not taunt them or try to expose them and I also will not believe everything that appears to be 'what's REALLY going on.' I want to say that being as I just came through a very negative space myself, I am ashamed to admit that i actually thought none of these beautiful people cared; presumptuous and small-minded of me, I know. I have never before encountered such openness and individuality as I have here. We can all be ourselves and be taken to task when we are being less than we are capable of being; and at the same time, the act of 'taking to task' implies caring on the part of the people who are putting their time and interest in resolving our problems. I love to get attention in a specific and focused way, yet at times those who are just very sweet and kind and full of praise and goodwill give kudos to me just BECAUSE I NEED THAT. It used to make me think that they were not as intelligent as those who applied their knowledge to point out flaws in actual proper form and usage. I have redirected that thought to see the intentions are the same: to help, to give of what they are best at giving, be it 'pants' or food-fetish-fun and games or mystical synchronicity or just wise advise, or even insults that sting because they hit home.....oh you said something about a flurry of important things in your OTHER real life, so to all of you Merry Christmas and Happy Hiking- I love hiking, I plan to do this from now to when I am 80-something, too! I hope that a blessing of safety, health and joy envelop your circle of friends and family with a little pinch of serendipity to spice it especially for the seasons celebration. In other words, Good Luck!

Beautifully written sentiments, Ma. My hope for 2010 is for us to welcome our 60's (augh!) with happiness and the joy of sharing the written word. I am convinced that with love and friendships there will again be peace in the kingdom. Hopefully.

Merry Christmas, Ma, to You and Your Loved Ones!
