Why does the bible prophesize that the anti-Christ will bring world peace?
I mean, isn't that rather the opposite you'd expect of an anti-Christ?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible_prophecy
However, Jesus said himself that he's the very opposite.
Matthew 10:34
"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword!"
- Jesus

I mean, Why are these such opposites?
Was Jesus the REAL anti-Christ?

The bible does not say that the antichrist will bring world peace.

No not at all because when the anti-Christ comes his peace will be counterfeit, it will last three in half years and then sudden destruction will come, this is all during the tribulation do you think that people would except someone who wasn't all about peace it is just so he can set up and rule then Jesus will come and and bring TRUE peace to the believers after the Great Judgment

Peace is evil....
You do get it, don't you?
Death is good.
Self deprivation is good.
See how things are reversed in this faith?
The apocalypse of Peter, a book that would be burned if it weren't published predicted that multitudes would mislead multitudes.
We have been living with the whore of Babylon for 2,000 years now, it's the only thing the people tied to the wide path that leads to destruction know.
It is the minority that goes a different route, it is the minority on the straight and narrow.
I expect many thumbs down, and I don't care.

The Bible does not and Jesus was not the anti-Christ. He merely spoke what history has proven is reality but the true meaning goes far beyond the surface. I find it rather amusing that Christians both pray for a one-world government and fear it at the same time. Christianity is so full of superstition, false teaching and members who are no more Christian than I am a green and orange elephant that it is no wonder so many people are doubting the existence of God.
Thy Kingdom come ... on Earth as it is in Heaven. Suppose for a moment that prayer is answered and God's Kingdom is established on the Earth. Will it cover one little corner or one or just a handful of countries, or will it be the entire Earth? If it is the entire Earth, is that not the definition of a one-world government? Angry? Christians get angry when I tell them in my opinion the typical Atheist is more inspired by God than is the typical Christian. At least Atheists see the falsity, the ludicrous parts of Christianity and Christians do not. Muslims? Not much better and many that call themselves Muslim are just like the Christians.
The fact is what many if not most or even what all Christians think are prophecies about the anti-Christ and are to be feared are actually about Christ returned and as such should be warmly welcomed. I was once a far more staunch Atheist than Dawkins, Stenger, Hitchens or any others you care to name. But if what I now believe is true then there is a God but only one, all major religions came from that one God and world peace is beckoning from an ever-brightening horizon. But if it is not true then there is no god, no true religion and apart from fleeting and isolated incidents we will never, ever have peace anywhere at any time. Want to hear the words of who is the best candidate for the typical Christian view of the anti-Christ? See if these quotes below are deserving of censure or deserving of praise. Do they come from God, or as Christians claim, from Satan?

There can be no doubt whatever that the peoples of the world, of whatever race or religion, derive their inspiration from one heavenly Source, and are the subjects of one God. The difference between the ordinances under which they abide should be attributed to the varying requirements and exigencies of the age in which they were revealed.
(Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 217)
When asked on one occasion: "What is a Bahá'í?" Abdu'l-Bahá replied: "To be a Bahá'í simply means to love all the world; to love humanity and try to serve it; to work for universal peace and universal brotherhood." On another occasion He defined a Bahá'í as "one endowed with all the perfections of man in activity." In one of His London talks He said that a man may be a Bahá'í even if He has never heard the name of Bahá'u'lláh. He added: --
The man who lives the life according to the teachings of Bahá'u'lláh is already a Bahá'í. On the other hand, a man may call himself a Bahá'í for fifty years, and if he does not live the life he is not a Bahá'í. An ugly man may call himself handsome, but he deceives no one, and a black man may call himself white, yet he deceives no one, not even himself.
(Dr. J.E. Esslemont, Baha'u'llah and the New Era, p. 71)
If religion proves to be the source of hatred, enmity and contention, if it becomes the cause of warfare and strife and influences men to kill each other, its absence is preferable. For that which is productive of hatred amongst the people is rejected by God, and that which establishes fellowship is beloved and sanctioned by Him. Religion and divine teachings are like unto a remedy. A remedy must produce the condition of health. If it occasions sickness, it is wiser and better to have no remedy whatever. This is the significance of the statement that if religion becomes the cause of warfare and bloodshed, irreligion and the absence of religion are preferable among mankind.
(Abdu'l-Baha, The Promulgation of Universal Peace, p. 298)
And now let us consider the various peoples of the world. All the nations -- American, British, French, German, Turkish, Persian, Arab -- are children of the same Adam, members of the same human household. Why should dissension exist among them? The surface of the earth is one native land, and that native land was provided for all. God has not set these boundaries and race limitations. Why should imaginary barriers which God has not originally destined be made a cause of contention? God has created and provided for all. He is the Preserver of all, and all are submerged in the ocean of His mercy. Not a single soul is deprived. Inasmuch as we have such a loving God and Creator, why should we be at war with each other? Now that His light is shining universally, why should we cast ourselves into darkness? As His table is spread for all His children, why should we deprive each other of its sustenance?

Peace can be achieved in a variety of ways. it isn't always the dove with the olive branch version if you complete a genocide then technically you could bring about peace by total elimination of your enemies.

think about what you just said, no Jesus was not anti-himself.
I think the anti-christ will bring peace to get more power, and then he will abuse it. Maybe the anti-christ will have a plan-of-action, if you will.
