Starting a flooded 4.3 vortec?

Is there a procedure for starting a 2003 4.3 when flooded?

    I don't know how you flooded it, but hold the pedal to the floor and crank it. Cranking it with the pedal to the floor shuts off fuel to the injectors as a "clear flood mode".

    Leave it sit for a while the excess gas will evaporate or put gas pedal down all the way and crank the engine. Only crank ffor about 30 sec's then allow the starter to cool down but keep the pedal pressed during the starter cool down. As the gas clears the engine will sputter and cough a bit before it actually starts

    If its fuel injected and you nold it to the floor it puts more gas into the system.The best way to start a fuel injected engine is just crank it with out touching gas pedal untill it starts.If it's already flooded let it stand for a reasonable time to dry out.That is one of the problem with the new engine specks for emission control the plug gap is to wide for cold damp air.

    is it flooded with gas or water? the 4.3 has a water port next to the intake port and if it leaks water in it can hydraulic the cylynder and bend the rod

    best just to let it sit for an hour or so
