I had a sweep done with my 4th baby who is now 4 weeks and 2 days old. I had it done on my due date (5/12/09) and was losing my bloody show all day that day and the following day (the Sunday) on the sunday night i kept feeling a trickling sensation down below and couldnt work out at first what was going on so i went to the see the midwife that evening and was told my waters were leaking. I actually ended up going into labour on Tuesday 8th December. It all depends on how ready you are! Good luck i hope it works, let us know if it does, also they probably told you this but if you dont go into labour within 48 hours of having the sweep done it hasnt worked, i'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, and to be honest you're 40 weeks so its not that much longer now!

Well it sounds like the sweep got something to happen but be aware the purpose of the sweep is to separate the membranes from the cervix, the idea is that natural prostoglandin starts to produce and on average labour begins within 3 days. You could experience some discomfort from the sweep but I can't imagine it will be much longer, so good luck x

With the bloody show that means labour is close. I had the show the morning I delievered my Baby girl. Good luck.
