WHAT HAPPENS IF I DELETE MY YAHOO ANSWERS ACCOUNT?

After 4 months of not using the account yahoo deletes accounts that are inactive

But, if you want to close your Yahoo! account, you can follow the steps

Go to here:

https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user

Then do the following:

● Login with your current username and password

● Select which account that you want to delete

● Enter in your password once again for verification purposes

● Enter in the anti-spam code; this is to prevent automated submissions

● Click Terminate This Account to finish off this process.

* When you close your account, you lose access to your Yahoo! ID, Yahoo! Mail, and profile names. We will delete your account data and settings across the Yahoo! network. This means you will lose all of your content in:

Yahoo! Mail

Yahoo! Address Book

Yahoo! HotJobs

My Yahoo!

Yahoo! Groups

Finance Portfolio

Only the YA team can DELETE your account.

Closing your EMAIL ID deactivates the YA account, but you also lose everything attached to that email account -- like messenger. After 4 months, the YA profile WILL disappear.

But ALL Q&A from that profile are still visible & searchable on site. IN VOTING or RESOLVED Q&A remain the property of Yahoo.

The safest thing to do is:

First, click your avatar and:

► Delete open questions and answers to open questions

….(Others will remain on the site)

► Remove all Contacts

Then click 'edit my info'. There:

► Blank out your avatar, nickname and 'About Me'.

► Close links to Yahoo Profile, IM and/or email.

► Disallow fans.

► Set Network and Q&A to private.

Then just leave.

What you can do is set your profile to private, including your network, disallow fans, remove all of your contacts, disallow email and IM change your avatar to the gray smiley face, remove your nickname and delete open questions. Do not go to the answers site at all and after 4 months yahoo will close your answers account.

it will delete your messanger as well... you could make another one for messanger and keep this one for answers or the other way around
