Vampire fans, some things I wonder about vampires! I want to have the right details for my documentary!?

The blood they drink, does it have to be human blood, or could it be beef blood or pork blood which are available as waste products from the meat industry and could probably be had very cheaply?

If the victim of a vampire becomes a vampire, and each of their victims also becomes vampires, and they all have to drink blood to survive, then why are there any humans left?

If mirrors can't reflect vampires, how do they shave or brush their teeth or tell if they got a rotten haircut?

When they turn into bats or wolves, can they be driven crazy by ultrasonic dog whistles?

Would a Jewish vampire be afraid of a Star of David?

Would a Moslem vampire be repelled by a copy of the Koran?

How would an Italian vampire react to garlic?

Well, depends on whose version you're using, but here's my understanding of all these things.

~Vampires can drink any blood they want. However, humans are probably the tastiest. Animals are probably like... mushrooms or spinach or something. Nutritious, but not everyone's favorite. Humans are like steak or maybe chocolate, if only chocolate weren't horrible for you. Animals probably aren't as filling, either. I also think it has to come from a living being and can't just be any old blood from, say, a blood bank or something.

~Now, this depends. I've read some stories where vampires kill their victims to keep them from turning. I also read that, traditionally, you'd have to be bitten three times to actually turn into a full vampire. Getting bitten once won't do anything. In others still, the bites don't transform humans to vampires; it's drinking a vampire's blood that does it.

~That's easy. They learn to shave without a mirror. They're immortal. Not like a nick'll kill them. That, or they get another vampire to shave them. In some vampire stories, the vampires are literally frozen in time and nothing about them changes (not just their age) so growing a beard would be impossible and shaving one futile. Brushing teeth is possible without a mirror. And I'm sure their undead buddies would laugh if they got a bad hair cut, so they'd know. XP

~They may not be driven crazy, but I'm sure they could hear them.

~I'm combining the Jewish and Muslim questions together. Since the vampire is traditionally viewed as a Christian monster, then it makes sense that it would only be effected by Christian items such as crosses and holy water. However, I recall at least one book stating that vampires can repelled by any holy item. I've also read that they're not repelled by the item, but the faith that backs the item up. So maybe, maybe not. Depends on your source.

~An Italian vampire would probably move out of Italy. They'd have the same weakness.

Source(s): Note: There are actual people who have some sort of physical and/or mental problem that makes them crave blood who call themselves vampires. Just throwing that out there for you.
