Top 5 Favorite Pieces of Horse Tack?

My trainer, friend and I were recently talking. My trainer asked us what our top 5 favorite pieces of horse tack were. At least one of them had to be a training equipment. We had to explain why there were our favorite. Mine are

1. Fork Training Aid, I've worked with draw reins, wasn't a huge fan of them. I like how the fork training aid is simple to use, you don't have an extra set of reins to hold in your hands.

2. Snaffle bit, its the most basic bit around. I use the snaffle bit when I'm working on head setting, esp. when I'm using the fork training aid.

3. Skid boots, with my pleasure horse he over steps, its being fixed right now. We're changing his shoes but I still want protection when I ride him.

4. Justin Memory Foam Saddle Pad, great for when I'm showing and I spend a lot of time in the saddle. I notice a huge difference when I ride with it, and I don't have to worry about my horse getting back sore.

5. Equitation seat saddles. I sometimes have issues with my back and I find that I may not be able to sit up in the saddle right, I like how the equitation seat saddle provides support. Also I find that I ride better with it in the show ring.

So now the question is what are your top 5 favorite pieces of horse tack, one of them has to be a training equipment and why?

Update:

Totally agree with the splint boots, its funny I have a pair their hot pink, my pleasure horse is a gelding. Poor him all his everyday tack are either baby blue or pink. I love going to shows and warming up, people look at this bay horse and then they notice the hot pink boots, their faces are classic

    1. Helmet - It doesn't matter what else I have on me or my horse, a single fall could kill me. Even with a helmet, it still can, but the risk is greatly reduced.

    2. Bell boots - I like my horse's legs to be uninjured. I'll usually use other boots with them (open front, splint, or sport), but bell boots are on for most rides. I find that horses will occasionally make mistakes with their legs and I like to prevent any real damage from coming out of it.

    3. Snaffle bit - I almost always use one. I like how they give more directional pressure to the horse than a curb. The exception to my snaffle usage would be when I'm showing in a western class.

    4. Dressage whip - It has enough length to reach behind my leg with both of my hands still on the reins, but unlike spurs, I don't have to take anywhere near as much time to add/remove them between horses.

    5. Bridle (including reins) - It is a very important line of communication between me and my horse.

    1. Hennig Sofa Dressage saddle. I don't think there is a saddle more comfortable than that thing in the world!

    2. Polo wraps. Supports the tendons better than anything else and looks professional.

    3. Loose ring snaffles. They are a simple bit any horse can be worked in.

    4. Christ sheepskin half pad, it's the same as a mattes. Cushions the back and can be given inserts to help with a saddle fit/positioning.

    5. German Stretcher. It connects over the poll, through the bit, and to the girth. But is nylon covered elastic, so it doesn't force the horses head down, it asks. The horse still has some freedom in it's head set which gives you the ability to adjust it, the stretcher is just there as a back up.

Hmmmm.... never actually thought about what my fav tack is. I would have to say my fav training aid would be my boy friend...lol. He's great on the ground when I need an extra set of hands, like for teaching the back command. Other than that I simply love the results a wonder bit gives, I like a cutback saddle because of the freedom of movement and lightness, though I wish I wasn't the only person I know riding them on trails. 3rd i like a nice breast color for english because the straps are handy to hold going up and down hills, and then i like my tennessee walking horse head stall because its so well made and last(im not sure if this would qualify for tack) i like my step stool for mounting. it makes my bad back and knees sigh with relief! not to mention mounting a 16.2 hand mare is hard work! i would also like to add my dream piece of tack (Hey! theres a new question i can ask!) my dream tack would be the california parade sets with all the dangles and silver, WOW!

    1. Helmet: I loveee my Charles Owen, not only because it saves my noggin, but also because it's sooo comfortable and actually fits my large head.

    2. D-ring bit: I have the large, hunter-style kind.

    3. Fleeceworks correction half pad: Sheepskin, memory foam front inserts, white. My horse has highh withers, and this keeps him comfortable. I have two: one for showing, the other for schooling.

    4. Baby pads: I love to collect them...haha. I especially love Lettia saddle pads because they're contoured and a bit larger so my saddle doesn't eat them as easily.

    5. Lunge line and whip: What would I do without these two items??
