What are some effective ways of lowering my Blood Glucose Levels?
I am an insulin dependent diabetic and lately my blood glucose levels have been a little high. I have seen both my doctor and diabetic educator regarding this and both have said to give myself more insulin, other than that neither were very helpful. I don't really want to go over the top with giving myself more insulin and am worried that I may give myself too much. I have eating and exercising well and am wondering what else I can do to lower my blood glucose levels. Any suggestions???

Exercise is always a big help for me. I noticed that my blood sugar is always much better for 12 to 24 hours after I exercise. I think it has something to do with the exercise helping your cells use insulin for efficiently/effectively. Although it's tough to start up a regular routine, it really does help a lot.

Sounds dumb but eating better can help, though my mom is a diabetic so I know that isnt always the problem. Also best way to get it down without using more insulin is exercise:) I know you said you have been doing it but maybe when it is high do a little extra.

The best advice I can give you is to start a raw food diet. Please watch a trailer of the video : "Raw for 30 days" is about an experiment on 6 diabetics two of which were type 1 who ate only raw food for 30 days the results will amaze you. Hope you can download the full video from somewhere and watch it, your life will be changed after seing it, one of the type 1 diabetics was able to reverse his condition by the end of the 30 days. My brother who was a diabetic type 2 was able to reverse it about a year ago after applying the concepts on this video. This is one of the links where you can watch the trailer http://www.blacksitemedia.com/play.php?vid=113, you can also watch on youtube

Eat foods that have a low glycemic index, and/or low glycemic load. Low glycemic index foods have less carbohydrate in them that can turn to glucose, and low glycemic load foods are either low glycemic index and/or they contain fats and/or fibers which slow down the absorption of the glucose, which effectively makes glucose levels spike less in the bloodstream.
