  • Mother refusing to let father see his daughter?

My partner has a 4 year old daughter from a previous relationship. There are no court orders in place or any legal documents stating when he can see his daughter. At present he gets to see her for a few hours once a month. More often than not the mother cancels any arrangements or just doesn't turn up. He wants to see her more often but the mother refuses to let him. He is on the daughters birth certificate and pays child support. Since there are no court orders in place is she legally allowed to just refuse to let him see his daughter.

I have a child with him also so therefore I know for a fact he is a wonderful father. She has never given any reason why she won't let him see her.

  • Head lice treatment when everything I have done so far doesn't seemed to have worked?

my 6 year old came home from school with head lice, i straight away got to his hair with head lice conditioner and nit comb, followed all the instructions and washed his sheets & clothes etc. I then did the follow up 5 days later as per the instructions. This didn't seem to work so I did everything over again, still didn't work. So i then tried a different brand of head lice treatment, now 6 weeks and 4 different brands of headlice treatment later, they are still there. Nothing seems to be working and it's gone beyond being frustrating. Any suggestions please???

  • What are some effective ways of lowering my Blood Glucose Levels?

I am an insulin dependent diabetic and lately my blood glucose levels have been a little high. I have seen both my doctor and diabetic educator regarding this and both have said to give myself more insulin, other than that neither were very helpful. I don't really want to go over the top with giving myself more insulin and am worried that I may give myself too much. I have eating and exercising well and am wondering what else I can do to lower my blood glucose levels. Any suggestions???

  • Help getting rid of a computer virus?

A thing called "Personal Anti-Virus" has suddenly popped up on my PC, I have never seen or heard of it before and did not knowingly download it, it basically has just appeared. It is blocking most websites that I view (eg Facebook, YahooMail etc), it has also told me that my computer has 81 viruses on it and that the only way to get rid of them is to purchase this Personal AntiVirus software. I have been told that this antivirus software is the actual virus. I have tried to get rid of it by uninstalling the program, but for whatever reason it won't let me. Any suggestions on how I can get rid of this virus????

  • Preventing bruising from insulin injections?

I am an insulin dependent diabetic and have to give myself injections 4 times a day. I have followed all the instructions on how to do so and change the injection site each time, but I keep getting massive bruises at the injection sites. I have spoken about this to both my doctor and diabetic educator but they just brush it off as nothing. The bruising is unsightly and is starting to concern me. Is there anything I can to to stop the bruising occuring or at least minimise it????

  • Tips on getting my 2 year old to wear his glasses????

My 2 year old has recently been prescribed to wear glasses to correct a lazy eye. The glasses have been correctly fitted and have had a strap attached to help keep them on. Despite this I can't get him to wear them, he will put them on but only for a minute or two and then he just takes them off. I have even started wearing glasses myself in order to help him keep them on.

The eye specialist has told me that my son has to wear his glasses at all times (except when he's sleeping) or he will go blind. I don't want my son to go blind, but I don't want to force the glasses either. Any tips on getting him to keep the glasses on???

  • My 2 year old has started eating the pages of his books?

He usually eats fairly well, but lately has started nibbling on the pages of books that he has been reading. I have heard that when toddlers start eating weird things it is because something is lacking in their diet (like iron or some vitamins etc). I have been to the doctor about it and they just said it's normal toddler behaviour. Anyone have any ideas about this????

  • How many hours sleep should my 2 year old be getting overnight???

My 2 year old goes to sleep around 9pm and wakes around 5am, I just wonder if this is enough sleep for him. He also has a 2 hour nap after lunch. I read somewhere that at his age he should be getting at least 14 hours of sleep every day, at the moment he gets about 10 hours sleep. Should he be sleeping more at night and if so how do I get him to sleep longer.

Now all of the sudden he screams the place down when he gets anywhere near any water, even running a tap freaks him out. What should I do to overcome this problem???

  • Helping a friend in need, what is the best way to go about it???

My best friend needs help and I want to help her but I'm not sure about how I should go about it. She seems to be loosing the plot, and hasn't been herself lately. She has told her partner (an extremely kind and loving man who would do anything for her) to f**k off and call the cops on him for trying to help her out. She has walked out on her family and has told them to never come near her again and is threatening to take them all to court for no reason. This has all happened really suddenly and we think there could be drugs involved. I am worried about her and am especially worried about her 5 year old daughter. I want to help her as she is my best friend and has been since we were kids, but am scared she will turn on me too. What should I do????

  • How do I get my son to be not so clingy to me???

My 12 month old has been continually clinging to my side lately. He won't go near any one else, including his dad, someone else goes to pick him up or play with him he starts howling. Every time I put him down he starts crying and doesn't stop until I pick him up again. I have to put a stop to this as I can't go carrying him around 24/7. I am also due to go back to work next month (part-time) and he will be starting day-care. What are some suggestions to get him to stop doing this????

  • What's the best way of getting my mother to stop critising everything my fiance does???

She has made it very clear that she doesn't like him and we have both accepted the fact she will never approve. She is constantly saying not so nice things about him both behind his back and to his face. We have a 1 year old son and according to her he does every thing wrong, like he can't feed him properly and doesn't change his nappies in the right way (despite the fact that he does every thing the same way I do). I have even overheard her saying to our son that Daddy is a mean person. How do I get her to stop???

  • Should I take him back???

My ex and I were together for almost 4 years when I found out I was pregnant. Everything was going well then when I was about 4 months he out of the blue dumped me saying he didn't love me anymore and that he never wanted to see me again. When I had the baby I tried to contact he to let him know and he said that he didn't care. A year went past and haven't see or heard from him, then all of the sudden he turned up wanting to see his son and wanting to get back together. He said that he lied when he said he no longer loved me and that he was just not ready tobecome a dad and that he missed me heaps. I don't know what to do, I still love him and all, but I also don't want to get hurt again and I don't want him hurting our son.
