I should be a guru, the things I've learned and researched in the last 6 months - wow! Although I've spent loads of hours researching the net. And then applying it into my routine.

Ultimately, what I would need is more informations regarding the new methods. That is what are the general pitfalls and risks that newbies and professionals experience in between different types of exercises and martial arts and sports.

Because morning exercises and bmi is easy to find out. What we also need is to know how to motivate oneself to push beyond our comfort levels. For me, motivation has always come from looking at well designed sports videos like this one:

    http://www.hadritkd.co.uk/Video_Clips-Hadri_Taekwo...

But that wasn't until someone who I respected as a knowledgable old man, told me that he was still strong because he was a boxer in his young age.

So, I guess we could ask the people who do they look up to, and what type of sports did those folks did as a youth.

Also for you guys to make a review of the most cost/time/health/minimal-risk effective methods of getting fit, or getting to a certain weight level, or towards a certain type of professionalism in a sport/martial/fitness. And make that blog headlined in the sports section so people can give an answer/review back to it.

Also a full up blog/review about sports nutrition, from eastern to western methods, to organic to what not. From bone and joint conditionity, to concentrated nutrition.

What I would also like from yahoo answers is surveys of yahoo answer users of what type of sports/activity they do. And for yahoo answers to make section reports of the type of questions being made over time... unless if you already do that.

I have never been heavy and am really starting to pack on the pounds in my stomach area. Are there any foods I need to avoid after 50? I know too much chocolate is part of my problem...I'm trying to really watch that. I know that female hormones play a part in where we gain the weight as we age, but is there an easier solution than cutting calories, fat...and pretty much EVERYTHING that taste good lol? I have an active job, so I get exercise Monday through Friday, and I also workout at Curves 3 times a week. How many calories should a 51 year old woman consume daily with moderate exercise. I'm 5'3"....135 lbs. I don't have allot to loose, pretty much the 9 pounds around my midsection. Any solutions?

Here you can find a very effective natural treatment for diabetes: http://diabete-cure.gelaf.info/

Diabetes can be "reversed" or go into "remission". I believe that what that is is decreasing the need to take medications. A person who has diabetes will always have it... but there are cases where a type 2 can either reduce medications or even eliminate them... but will still need to watch diet, get plenty of exercise and keep their weight down. This is called management and control. However, that does not mean that there will never be one. Research has taken huge advances and the more scientists learn about it, the higher likelihood that a cure might come about someday.

While I did recently read an article that stated gastric lap band or gastric bypass MAY be a potential cure, more research is needed and even if this one day is a cure, it would only be effective on type 2s who are obese since neither of those procedures are performed on people who are of normal weight or body mass. Stem cell transplants are still highly controversial and most likely, have a long way to go before it is approved as a diabetes cure by the FDA. Since the vast majority of diabetics are type 2 (roughly 90%), those of us who are type 1 seem to get lost in the shuffle. EMT type 1 for more years than I care to remember, use a pump. Let me add that when I mean diabetes can be controlled and managed without medication but with diet, exercise and weight control, I'm referring to type 2. This is not an option for type 1s, who must take insulin, either by injections or a pump, to survive.

I would like to know how to become fit as a teenager. I'm only 13 years old at the moment, and I know childhood obesity is a cause for diabetes and heart disease as an adult. A lot of the answers that i read up on have advice that seems geared towards adults, like eating 6 small meals a day. Honestly, I just can't keep up with that. Between school itself, afters school activities, homework and soccer, I can't eat all these small meals. Some advice suggests using protein powders, but a lot of those contain creatine, which I've heard is bad for a teenagers growth. And of course I've heard that working out, as in lifting weights, is bad for teens under 16. I'd like to know some exercises to make me a healthier person, and a nutritional guideline.

group (somewhat), or posted daily exercises at the beginning of the day, it would be beneficial to those who want to work out but are clueless as to what activities to practice. Also, the moral support would be encouraging (seeing as they won't be doing this alone).

While I love the idea of Y!A helping with fitness goals, I am concerned that this may in turn promote unhealthy habits.

There are so many young, teen-aged girls on here who are dangerously thin, yet are looking to lose some more weight. I know this has nothing to do with the question, but something like this could become a negative influence on their lives.

Hey cool question! ☺ I would actually would like A LOT to eat less but feel full, I hate the fact that I skip breakfast and then when it comes to lunch and dinner I freak out that I didn't over eat. And counting all those calories, and then trying to find something on computer that's says exactly how much calories you can have. I also wouldn't mind learning exercises that will show some changes. I mean there is so much you can do for fitness, but a lot of it takes a long time to actually change something. Thank you☺

I am trying to conceive and want to be fit during and after pregnancy. Right now I am cycling (stationary) for 20 minutes burning only 115 cals. I take a 3.2 miles brisk walk once in a week.

I am 29 Years old, 171 cms tall with 142 pounds weight. My pulse rate at rest is 21 per 15 secs (which is unfit i know).

    1) Do you think these exercises i am doing right now is enough for me and I should just keep this up?

    2) Are these exercises enough during my pregnancy or are these any harm for someone who is TTC and while and after pregnancy?

    Greetings,

I recently turned 33, wheelchair-bound, in chronic pain... both for several years, and have had similar fitness goals for a while now. I hope that you will be able to answer my two short questions.

Question #1: How can I work on strengthening my core?

I am unable to turn very far to the sides, I can only hold very minimal weight, (Yet have a tendency to drop everything), and swimming is out of the question at this time... At least until I can find another facility with aquatic physical therapy.

In order to avoid very serious surgeries, a strengthened core is an absolute must have.

Question #2: Are you aware of any workout videos created for those in a wheelchair?

This would be absolutely wonderful, as I could take it to my physical therapist and specialists to gain their approval, and hopefully have another route to increase strength and flexibility.

Any assistance you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you, and please take care.

    ~Heather

If part of what are called Community Guidelines means avoid telling facts as usual, it is a waste of time having it. One, diets should be gender specific as women loose weight different than men. Is this ok to say as far as Community Guidelines or is this objectionable? We know those in denial of facts would object to about anything to get their way. But this is not good for any community.

If I suggest that most ladies have trouble loosing their inner thighs because they are too busy trying to look like a stick, is that objectionable or just facts? Did you see any of the so called pros giving advice on exercising the inner thigh? Do you know of any men who have this problem, yet and not super overweight? If one exercises the inner thighs, they automatically exercise the legs and gluts. So they get the best results.. I find that many avoid telling this. It must be this is not politically correct or it is it may look controversial.

So, if the so called Community Guidelines finally allow truth or facts it could help those who are dieting. Earl

We see that if answers will not allow facts as it does not in many areas, it will be worthless
