Which version of Windows do you have?
If your file auto-saved, you can get it back (at the very least, all but a few minutes of your work)
Make sure you show hidden files and folders before you follow these instructions, or you will not be able to locate your file.
On XP, go to this address:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner (or whatever you named it)\AppData\
Roaming\Microsoft\Word
If you have Vista or 7, go to this address:
C:\Users\"Username"\AppData\
Roaming\Microsoft\Word

Hi James,Do you know if Word was set to auto save,if so there might be a copy there in the background. Open word, and click on 'open',and search in my documents folder. Or try looking for it in windows own search function, putting in a memorable line. In Word click on help or press on f1 and where it says getting started click on the home(house) icon and see if it automatically comes up there in the OPEN box or by typing in the Asisstance box.
I hope one of these work for you. All the best.Rab

If you have the printed document and a scanner just scan it in. However if you don't you can try an automatic save feature. It's probably in there. You should try looking in the history. It might be in there. You should always choose to save.

Uh no, but what happened? Did the file not print? If so, did you check your printer document que? Because it may still be in the printer's memory.

Unless the computer crashed on you and it auto-saved, there's no use in getting this file back.
Sorry! Best of luck!
