It depends on the concentration of the Silver. If it's 10 ppm (parts per million) or less, you should be just fine with 1-3 teaspoons per day... if it's more, I would avoid it unless you're under a doctor's care who is knowledgeable about the Silver to know how much you should take.

Colloidal Silver (the typical kind you'd find in the safe levels) is very good for boosting the immune system, but you definitely don't want to take too much as it can turn your skin blue or gray over time (it's called Argyria) if you take too much. As long as you stick with the proper levels, you won't get Argyria, so you won't have to worry about that with the right amounts.

I'm sure you'll probably hear people talk about the "Blue Man", Paul Karason, who said that he looks like a smurf (or someone else who has gotten Argyria). He made his own Silver Solution from a machine he saw in a magazine ad (taking several times more than the normally recommended dose), used it improperly (externally on his skin), and even still uses it because he likes the benefits (even though he knows he's blue because of it).

My favorite line from the whole thing is "Karason hasn't sought any medical attention for his condition. When he was asked if he's still drinking the colloidal silver, he said yes, but much less" (from the first link below). You can read more about him at http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,317564,00.html and http://www.silver-colloids.com/Pubs/blue-man.html

The second link there points out that he didn't actually use Colloidal Silver, but he made his own silver solution, which gave him more silver (and a less safe form than Colloidal) than he should have had.

The "Blue man" came into up the media a year or two ago and has scared a lot of people out of taking something that can be beneficial. After it came up in the news, I did a lot of research in it and have helped several people that have started using Colloidal Silver and some have specifically told me they've gotten great benefits from it.

It's always best to look into things like this before going for them. ;-)

I have researched silver nano-solutions extensively. True colloidal silver (which is actually rare - most products labeled colloidal silver are actually ionic silver) in concentrations of about 20 PPM has had wonderful results for many people and I am not aware of any reports of harm.

The best examples I know of are Utopia Silver's Advanced Colloidal Silver and Purest Colloids' Mesosilver.

Oldtimekid2 is quite correct about blue man Paul Karason. He made his own ionic silver solution at home with tap water, added salt to it (resulting in silver chloride) and drank over a quart a day for over a year. That wlll turn you blue alright. Karason has probably ingested as much silver as anyone on the planet, and personally I think he basks in his notoriety and all the paid motel stays and expenses he gets for appearances on all the TV shows. What is almost never mentioned by those who hold him up as a false example of the dangers of colloidal silver is that he took a complete physical at Mount Sinai at the request of one of the shows he appeared on and was given a clean bill of health.

When you say Silver Water, I think you may be referring to a whole different product, possibly Covalent Silver. I have been told that Covalent Silver, which the makers go out of their way to say is not a silver solution product, will soon have studies released that prove rather amazing benefits. Until I see proof instead of claims I will withhold any judment other than to say they have a lot to prove if what I have been told is to be believed. It is very expensive, but a lot goes a long, long way. So we will see. For now, color me extremely skeptical.
