Has any one had experiences with custom made wedding dresses from China?

Good and bad.. please let me know! I've found a gorgeous dress but is far over my price limit, tempted to get it imported but want to know if it's worth it?!?!

this was my experience---i ordered a dress custom made (thinking oh im getting such a great deal) i got it and once i tried it on.... i didn't like it so much and it looked kind of cheap. ive heard some people having great experiences though.

i would recommend making sure you pick the right type of dress for you and do some research on what looks right on your body type. even go to a bridal shop to try on different styles. davids bridal has all types of dresses for $100 and up. i ended up getting a second dress from mori lee at a bridal shop. it was def a waste of time ordering online.

Not that I have worn one but I have been the photographer at a wedding where the dress was a custom made wedding dress from China.

The dress was silk, and cost £80 to have made and look great. It was purchased through E-Bay so that the bride had some security through the pay pal system.

If it is far above your price limit, then do some research. Don't just go for the first dress maker you find. If it is custom made, then they can make you the dress you want if you send a picture and your measurements. Try other countries like Thailand.

As long as there is a money back guarantee if the quality is not up to your standard or if it doesn't fit - I'd do it!

If you come to China (I live in Shanghai) you can get dresses made at the fabric markets. Lots of the girls here will just tear out pics of celebrities from magazines and take these photos into the markets and get dresses made. It's great for bridesmaid dresses and suits for the boys too.

Go to www.landybridal.com and feast your eyes on his dresses. He is a bona fide factory in China and I got my stunning wedding dress from him plus 8 bridesmaids dresses.

I guarantee you wont be disappointed he also sells on ebay and has 100% feedback in 4 figures.

Go for it and stop worrying about your dress now as there are other things that need tending too.

    Good luck.

    Hello,

My friend ordered her dress through Ebay and it was absolutely beautiful, cost £90 in total. It was made from silk and lace and i have to say looked at least £1500. Give yourself plenty of time just in case you are not happy with it though. Best of luck x

I wouldn't do it. It's such an important dress... If your heart is set on that dress, why not take a picture to a talented local seamstress and go with her to buy materials- ensuring you get the quality you would like...

My sister-in-law's dress was made in China and it was gorgeous. The fabric wasn't crappy, the hems were good and the beading was very well done. I think she said she paid about $300 for a $1,000 design, so the discounts are great.
