Will Republicans defend remarks by Pat Robertson and Rush Limbaugh on Haitian Earthquake? I'd like to hear it?

Rush Limbaugh the Conservative Right Wing deFacto leader of the Republican party stated on his Radio show that Obama is using the rescue to promote his political fortunes -- asked people not to donate to Haiti. Pat Robertson the Right Wing Extremist preacher said that Haiti is reaping it's reward for "making a pact with the Devil"

Does anyone want to hear comments from Right Wing Conservatives like this?

Should they apologize immediately?

Will Republicans defend them or condmen them?

Are they speaking for most Conservatives or is this just a coincidence?

Will Republicans just go on like nothing happened and forgive Pat Robertson and Rush or will they actually do something?

Do you think Pat Robertson speaks for Christians or perhaps someone else?

Update 2:

FYI--Haiti is a Democracy!

Update 3:

Rush said not to donate and Pat Robertson said they are getting what they deserve for making a pact with the Devil

If the Republicans consider themselves a value based, respectable party they would be smart to finally distance themselves from Rush and Pat, but it's possible they have gone too far to the right because there are so many nuts on that extreme and they need them for their base. A lot of center right conservatives are jumping ship.

They already have ten times over for DECADES now! What's new???! There have been some right here who have said "Limbaugh and Robertson are right". They still support Limbaugh AFTER seeing that list of racist quotes that he's made over the years. Are you really surprised? Those people in Haiti are brown skinned people. Of COURSE the racist Limbaugh does NOT want them to get any help from America! Like minds think ALIKE!

    WAKE UP PEOPLE! WAKE UP!

I always knew Pat Roberts was a loon but at least I thought Rush had a little decency and always wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. His comments were vicious and racist. Seems with him, everything that the president does is all about race. Those people needed help, not criticism.Imagine how you would feel if you lost your family and some ignorant person said that it was your fault. These men are sick, sick, sick.

  • They should apologize and say nothing more. It is wrong to politicize tragedies. Innocent people are suffering, regardless of the fact they are ruled by communist dictators.

ADDED: I was wrong, Haiti is a Republic. The other side of the island is communist.

BUT...I did since listen to the context of what Rush said. He was not suggesting that people shouldn't donate privately. He said that we all donated with our tax dollars--which is true--that is where the 100 million that the US is sending comes from. Rush said that government shouldn't be the sole provider of disaster relief because power is then shifted from the private sector. he is a conservative--as am I--and that is what we believe, that the power of the individual is far greater than gov't. I support that.

Also, Haiti is a predominately Catholic country and as a fellow Catholic, i am sure the Church will rise to the occasion. I fully expect extra collections for disaster relief within the Church.

This is the first place that I've heard of Obama using this evet to promote his crap agenda, but I've got to admit that as a CNN viewer it seemed obvious that this was the case before hand. Who'd have thought that a lefist with the intention of knocking these remarks would have reaffirmed my thoughts.

Yes, all CNN is really talking about is how poor they are, bad health care, and other things that Obama has been trying to accomplish. This makes us look protected by comparison and helps glorify his agenda. Really, it's a classic political abuse of a real devastation.

As for Pat Robertson's remarks, he speaks for himself. We Republicans have considered him to be a loon for years. He USED TO be a high influential figure in our politics, but he lost us years ago with some of his crazy statements like this one.

I defend their right to say it, whatever they say, right or wrong is in the eyes of the beholder! Why would anyone want to suppress anything anyone says? Oh, I digress, Liberals can't stand dissension by the other side!

Source(s): Just another fly in the ointment, eh?

WHY DOESN'T OBAMA DONATE HIS NOBLE PRIZE MONEY TO HAITI.

Never mind Limbaugh or Robertson, I want to know why Obama wants people to go to the White House web site to donate money for Haiti.

I see a future email list of people to solicit donations from for Democratic candidates.
