Prometheus of Greece was yet another Pagan god/man Like the Roman Jesus. Why can't Christians admit this?

Prometheus was descended from heaven as God incarnate as a man, to save mankind. He was crucified, suffered and rose from the dead. He was called the Word or Logos. Poet Aeschylus 500 years before Jesus in his Play "Prometheus Bound" wrote, "Lo, streaming from the fatal tree, his all-atoning blood!.........When God the great Prometheus, died, for man, the creatures sin". Remember this was all before Jesus. And no claim can be made that Prometheus was copied from the Jesus story.

So many interesting cross overs in spiritual stories. With such commonality, it seems to speak to a need in mankind in general. A void that different cultures fill with similar tales.

A lot of your questions go straight over my head without looking up what you are talking about, but always educational & informative.

This is a really good one. Thanks.

First, Prometheus was neither god nor man...he was a Titan and older than the gods...Technically he would be Zeus's uncle. If his story is similar to any Christian mythology, it would have to be that of the serpent in the Garden of Eden. Zeus and the other gods were content to leave humans ignorant to the ways of the world and as innocent as animals, but Prometheus betrayed him and gave humans fire that he had stolen from the gods. When he taught the humans how to use fire, they became intelligent, and Zeus was angry and punished him. Prometheus was chained to a cliff and vultures were sent to eat out his intestines for all eternity. Because he is greater even than the gods, he could not die, so he was sentenced to suffer until the end of the world. It wasn't until Heracles came along that he was freed. Heracles killed the vultures and unchained Prometheus. To save face and to say that he had in fact punished Prometheus, Zeus made it so that Prometheus is forced to carry a piece of the cliff with him wherever he went. This is nothing like the HEBREW (not Roman) Jesus. While you're right that Jesus's story is a copy of several pagan stories, this one is not one of them. Try Horus, Dionysus, Mithra, etc. If your going to use mythology to make a point, make sure you know the story.
