2 AnswersYahoo Toolbar1 decade agoIf Mystics are evil and of Satan then why aren't they the ones that are killing everyone?
Orthodox religions of the God of Abraham can't make it through a day on this planet with out killing. When was the last time you saw a Buddhist monk killing an alchemist. Or a gnostic running through the street with a rifle yelling kill the infidels? Many Orthodox religions are evil. What do you think?
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWho wrote the following?
"The Christian religion is a parody on the worship of the sun, in which they put a man whom they called the Christ, in the place of the sun, and pay him the same adoration which was originally paid to the sun."
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoPlease logically explain this ? It makes no sense.?
Exodus 13;19 and Joshua 24;32 both report that Moses brought Joseph,s bones up out of Egypt for burial as Joseph prophesied in Genesis 50;24-5. Yet in Genesis 50;26 Joseph was reported to have been embalmed (Mummified) and was placed in a coffin (sarcophagus)in Egypt. This as Egyptian custom would dictate for a Visor. If Joseph would have been a mummy then how could he have been bone only? Does this show that the translator did not understand exactly what process was performed on Joseph's body? That this was an addition to scriptures? That indeed the flesh would remain on the bone in a mummified state for centuries. Or did Moses actually hack the flesh off of Joseph's bones, break the bones apart and carry these up out of Egypt. Or is this another example of God's miracles usurping the laws of physics and science and voiding the embalming and preparing these bones for Moses?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs this a good example of Christian circular reasoning?
Jesus performed miracles to prove that he was God. He didn't absolutely reveal himself as God because that would take away peoples free will. I.E. If he revealed himself as God by some major undeniable miracle it would destroy the concept of free will to believe in him. Little miracles that proved he was God would not. What the h*ll is that? Have your cake and eat it too?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIt will be here soon. So how do you paln to celebrate the Midway point between Yule (winter solstice)?
and (Ostara) Spring Equinox.
Pagans usually call it IMBOLC
Some Christians call it CANDLEMAS.
Some Christians call it St. Brigid's Day
So if you plan to celebrate this holiday associated with fire, what are your plans?
Yes I know it is celebrated on different days by different groups, usually between Feb.1 and 5.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSo did they change the Bible or not?
St. Faustus (Fifth-Century French Monk) wrote"...,who made up their tale out of reports and opinions merely, fathering the whole upon the names of the Apostles of the Lord......, They maliciously pretend that they had written their lies and conceits according to them." Prof. Eberhard Nestle (expert on old evangelical text wrote in his "Einf-hrung in die Textkritik des griechischen testaments" He hinself made such claims, Detlef Nielsen further added......" Learned men,so called Correctors were, following the church meeting at Nicea 325 A.D., selected by the Church authorities to scrutinize the sacred texts and rewrite them in order to correct their meaning in accordance with the views which the Church had just sanctioned. St. Anathansius, Bishop who participated in the Council of Nicea (325) even admitted that the Council changed the Scriptures. They :commandeered the Scriptures by opting to use the NonScriptual term "homoousious" (of one substance) to combat the possible interpretation of the existing Scriptual terminology being offered by the Arians. Their is considerable evidence that the scriptures were changed to fit what the Church wanted. Is it possible in your opinion ?
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoToth has been indentified with Hermes. Both are respectfully known as the Logos in their own cultures.?
Jesus is known as the Christian Logos. It is said "Toth was personification of the universal order, The "heart and tongue" of the Sun God Ra who "spoke the words" which resulted in the creation of the heavens and earth. (Budge, Gods of the Egyptians I,Pgs.407-08). Iamblichus ,On the Mysteries 7.1, Taylor translation pg,300. States that Toth was the revealer of Priestly Knowledge. "Hermes (The Greek Toth) is the Word who has expressed and fashioned the things that have been, that are and that will be" (Hippolytus,Refutations against all Heresies 5.2 (Ante-Nicene Fathers,V50), Translation by Doresse, Secret Book of the Egyptian Gnostics,84). It seems odd that the Egyptian, Greek and Christian mythologies all have their" Logos" as the means by which creation was performed, yet Christians don't accept this. Jesus, the Christian Logos being the youngest of the trio, but still a creator (1Cols. 1;-15-18). The facts are there. Why not accept this? P.S. Hermetic writings began to appear around 150 B.C., long before Jesus. The Logos appeared in Plato's works, this long before Jesus. You can't say that the Greeks copied this from Christianity.
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre these similar? Or can it be expalined away?
In Egyptian judgment mythology people want Toth (Egyptian Logos) to act on their behalf. In Christianity, Christians want Jesus (Christian Logos) to act on their behalf in their final judgment scene. Or Are The Egyptian religious myths misunderstood yet again? Is it possible that the Egyptians understood a little Christianity before Jesus?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo you see a relationship between the following "Book of Coming fourth by Day" and John 1:1?
Book of The Dead it is written, "I am the Eternal,...I am that which created the Word,... I am the Word". Does this prove well enough that the concept of the Word predates Modern Roman Christianity?
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoPrometheus of Greece was yet another Pagan god/man Like the Roman Jesus. Why can't Christians admit this?
Prometheus was descended from heaven as God incarnate as a man, to save mankind. He was crucified, suffered and rose from the dead. He was called the Word or Logos. Poet Aeschylus 500 years before Jesus in his Play "Prometheus Bound" wrote, "Lo, streaming from the fatal tree, his all-atoning blood!.........When God the great Prometheus, died, for man, the creatures sin". Remember this was all before Jesus. And no claim can be made that Prometheus was copied from the Jesus story.
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSo what did Origen mean when he wrote? Is it the Christ within us as Paul stated?
"The word can also be "the Son" because he announces the secrets of the Father, who is the "Mind" (Nous) analogous to the Son who is called "Word" (Logos). For as the Word (Logos=Reason) in us is the messenger of what the mind perceives, so the Word of God. since he has known the Father, reveals the Father whom he has known. because no creature can come into contact with him without a guide". (Origen, Commentary on John 1.278)

3) That the Pagan logos was in fact adopted by the early church?

1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWho wrote the following and where did it appear?
"When we say, as before, that he (Jesus) was begotten by God as the Word of God in a unique manner beyond his ordinary birth, this should be no strange thing for you who speak of Hermes as the announcing word (Logos) from God.
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSo what could it really mean?
The Greeks made no use of articles within their language. When you see an article interjected into the English translations of the Scriptures it is a scribal addition. The Greeks had other methods to establish relationships of things within their writings. Order and Letter usage were two such ways. Therefore what does Acts 1:5 Really mean with the removal of the scribal addition of "the" before Holy Spirit ? Acts1"5 "For John baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with (the) Holy Ghost not many days hence". The order of the words might have been changed to lead to this translation(?)
