My Cousin's Wife is trapped in Saudi Arabia, what can be done to get her back home to the US?

My Cousin's wife is a Saudi Arabian Citizen but has lived here for the past 15+ years. They met in Med School and they were planning their wedding ceremony. They had not told her parents about the engagement, and when they brought it up the Mother did not approve.

Time went by and the Mother claimed to have come to terms with the situation and asked her to come back to Saudi for a bridal shower, but not long after she got there her Mother took all of her travel document and since then she has kept her as a prisioner in their home.

Since weomen can't drive in Saudi and she's basically property of her paernts in the eyes of the Saudi Govt. She can't just go get a new passport with out her Fathers approval and he's not giving it.

My Cousin and his Wife had actually already gotten a civil marriage prior to this whole thing and were just using the ceremony as their public celebration of their marriage.

So now my Cousin's wife trapped in Saudi Arabia, and has been for over 6 months what can he do to get her home?

I asked in differing categories, because I wasn't sure where to find the right people the answer... or that I would get useless answers like yours

Contact the US embassy in Riyadh. Since she is married to a US citizen and has legal residency in the United States, she has rights.

Your cousin needs the help of people in power, who can sometimes move mountains in situations like this. If I were him, I would sit down and write to Hillary Clinton, telling of the situation. I would also call every legislator in my area, because they can sometimes help.

There are organizations that help in the case of kidnapped children. The boy kept in Brazil is an example of the length of time it can take to solve these cases. If your cousin's wife has a great deal of money, she can possibly pay a man to lead her out of the country. This has happened in several kidnapping cases.

Usually, those kept in other countries are American citizens. The fact that your cousin's wife is a Saudi citizen is going to make it more difficult than ever to bring her back. However, if they were married in a civil ceremony, then she may well be considered an American citizen.

Your cousin's wife is now an American citizen, which means Saudia Arabia is breaking international law. If you raise this issue witht he authorities, they will take actions to get your cousin's wife back. You need the full backing of the US Military!

call al-queda. they'll send her here. She just has to drop the bomb off with the authorities before she gets on the plane.
