Does feminism adhere to the Universal Law?

The universal law: Everyone should be held to the same standard,Including you and me.(I believe it is a deontology principle) example: You believe in the draft so you yourself must be able to be drafted and OK with being drafted. You believe in the death penalty even though innocent people can be executed so you yourself must be able to be OK with the fact if you where wrongfully prosecuted and sentenced to death.

Do feminist judges and feminist elected officials and feminism in general even remotely subscribe to this?

Update:

/face palm

The draft and what not were examples to illustrate the concept of the Universal Law. I mean do feminist's actions fall in line with the Universal Law?

The day men become pregnant, breast feed and give birth is the day they become women.

Men are MEN because they DON'T do those things.

And no, feminism does not adhere to this law. They believe in equal employment practices, yet they push for more and more affirmative action. They believe in equal opportunity to get into government positions and yet they are pushing for legislation that will force the UK parliament to be at least 50% women. That's what I call democracy...

Feminist is a movement that grant women special treatments is all about selective equality.

  • 1 decade ago

No since it constantly demand for more special treatments for women and lobby for laws/policies that'll either only protect women or give them all sort of easy passes in life.. The movement clearly want women to be pampered and not being held accountable (or to the same standard as men.) for their wrong-doings.

To sum it up, feminism wants women to be relieve of responsibilities. It wants women to have all the rights that men have and much more, but without any responsibilities to go along.

True Brit said : Well, I believe men should fall pregnant, have babies and breastfeed.

    Or else

I believe women should not fall pregnant, stay single , nor should they have babies to breastfeed.

The later is more plausible. Am i right?

Well, I believe men should fall pregnant, have babies and breastfeed. When that happens, I believe we are all the same and should be treated the same.

I believe that we should be held to the same standard, certainly, and held accountable for the same crimes as a man would do.

I also believe that war is at times a necessary evil, I prefer men and women to enter it voluntarily. I am against any form of draft. Saying that, though, is of course simplistic. Until a better system comes along, I will not force a woman into a system I thoroughly disapprove of. And yes, I'd get every man out of it, too.

Edit: Precisely Benino - that is my point.

True feminism, in my opinion, is the desire to promote equality among men and women. Ideally, neither sex has an advantage over the other. This may seem unattainable, but like many other areas of life, we strive for perfection despite the knowledge that we may never achieve it.

Look at "positive discrimination" - things like all women shortlists for parliament p*** all over universal law.
