Why do your fingers get all pruney if you are in the pool or the shower too long?
You know how your fingers get all wrinkly? What causes it? Is it a type of osmosis?
Also my dad says it only happens in fresh water; not salt water. Is that true?
Thanks for any answers!

Yeah that osmosis. It happens both in fresh and salt water. The fact is that the concentration of water in your body is less than that in the lake/sea etc. By osmosis, water enters your body to compensate for the concentration difference.

It's because your skin absorbs the water, making the surface area bigger and therefore creating wrinkes to put it simply! I think it does still happen in salt water.

you don't have as many oil glands on the palms of your hands or bottoms of your feet to keep the water from saturating your skin.
